But more so that, the ref waited to confirm that Mahomes got picked and then threw the flag. People keep pointing to the call being “correct” but disregard the very obvious fact that the flag was not thrown when he saw a hold, it was thrown when he saw a turnover.

There's a difference between holding and touching. Sauce had his hands on him but wasn't having a grasp of the jersey. He was handchecking so not a penalty. Also the ref himself doesn't believe that was holding because if he did then he wouldn't have waited for the defender to catch the ball so he could throw a flag.
