Hi LWO hunters. I just found your vids and had to subscribe to your channel. Well done! I know the filming you do is very difficult esp while hunting with a flinchlock. I hunt in north western Pa. Erie co. and Warren co. (although the CWD in Warren is alarming) some great country for whitetail. Was glad to see your vid on ice fishing Eaton res with Fish USA. I didn't know they had a tournament. Just wanted to give you a shout-out and express my appreciation of your good work and efforts.

I harvested a doe the 18th around 6:10 in the evening. She came out of the woods in a soy bean field with 4 other doe and a 6 point. She was the lead doe and she and thr doe with her could smell me they were both licking there nose and smelling the air and she was watching the edge of the woods . She walked out just enough to where I put the cross hairs right on her and slowly squeezed I almost rushed the shot but I regained composure and took my time bc I knew she would stay there judging the way she walked so far. An 80 yard shot and she went 70 yards. The buck was the only one left in the field he just stared looking at the other deer running he took off only when I came into the field. She dressed 115lbs

@bkauffman0390
@bkauffman0390 2 жыл бұрын
As far as my rifle the woods was local, Central PA. Swamped barrel is wider at the breech, tapers down then flares back out near the muzzle eliminating excess weight and making the rifle handle better. In my opinion (1700 gun builders) they knew how to make a gun so it held better back then than they can today. I can hold my flintlock steadier than my model rifles.

Our farm was cut out a few years ago and it looks just like that, if not more thick...what are your tips/tricks for hunting around that? I found to post up near the transition lines because the deer just like us don't always wanna walk through all that thick stuff 🤷‍♂️ it's definitely been a challenge to switch up how I hunt the land now

I have 9 black powder guns (percussion and flintlocks). There is something special about hunting with a flintlock. Now the percussion guns don't get much of a chance to go out. I only take out the percussion guns in the rain, though the rain didn't seem to be a factor for you.

i passed on 2 giant does this year during archery because 2 fawns were with them. and i was hoping a big buck was following them. 3 hours later when i was walking back to the truck the very same does were 5 and 10 yards away from me standing on the path staring at me. the 2 fawns were feeding in the weeds on the side. i yelled at em to take their kids and go and they just stood there until i got 3 feet away then ran off. my passes are good all day.
