Agree. What attracts me is unlike Spiders and many other devs, this dev, like Ninja Theory, is highly focused on making the combat make sense and feel rewarding. Their theory seems to be if the gameplay combat isn't working, what's the point? This has integrity for me; especially, since I'm so bad at combat in most games.

I somewhat enjoyed the demo of this on PC. The performance was pretty gnarly though and with very few options to alter the graphics (you basically get the same menu as you do in the PS5 with performance/quality and little else). The unblockable attacks being telegraphed (the red dot) midway through animations was a little annoying too, as you would react to the animation and then you're already committed to an attack/block when the red dot suddenly appears. Oh and the shield mobs (in the demo at least) has a near instant shield bash, which was likewise frustrating.

Played for a couple hours on Gamepass. Not usually into fantasy or Souls games but decided to try something different cause I’m a sucker for Victorian aesthetics. Ended up uninstalling; story and characters just didn’t grab my attention, got my ass handed to me a bunch (parry timing feels really off compared to other similar games I’ve played), started to get pissed off and realized this is just gonna be a the whole game and just wasn’t for me. Lesson learned: Aesthetics alone do not a fun game make.

I'm just having fun with this game because on easy this game is beating itself on its own. What I like: 1. jumping and fun shortcuts with these portals, 2. active pet system with Enki - it's not elaborate but I just like to have a buddy to controll, super easy "easy" mode. What I don't like: 1. inventory is atrocious and it really needs work like implementing showing names of the items on the HUD while equipping them because axes don't look that much different to each other) or better...fucking ditch DS way of handling of inventory which is dated as hell and do something that is not this irritating mess for a modern user, 2. parrying is iffy or rather button queuing - you never know if parry or roll will start after pressing attack button, 3. story is shit, 4. music and overall sound design is all over the place, 4. Ranged weapons while fun this reload system makes you not want to interact with it at all, 5. These barrels and using them to progress...this is one of the laziest way to gate progress to the puzzle - hide a barrel somewhere and make player search for it every 30mins

@@zerobe49 I didn’t know what to expect from this game cause as I said, I was trying something different. If I’m not being pulled in and intrigued by the characters and the world, that’s on the game. I can put up with some questionable gameplay if the story is intriguing but here this ain’t it. And having low expectations can often lead to being pleasantly surprised when a game is great or (as in this case) prevent me from being bitterly disappointed. Which is an attribute I’m applying more and more the last few years due to being burned by games I was actually looking forward to.

They don't have any real evidence and sound just like rumors about previous SBI projects that were debunked by the devs. The protagonist was shown ever since the game was announced over two years ago.

"Black wash" doesn't really make sense tho, considering this is an original story instead of an adaptation and the MC's always been Black, as far back as in the official announcement trailer. I think the devs have potential like I mean most of every game borrows from something else and it worked for Palworld. I love the inspirations they taken here like the God of war ragnarok like traversing, souls like bosses and graces, and has gunplay that doesn't seem too shabby. I think games like this are like a devs first steps and I think if they get to work again they can really churn out something solid. I think the worst part of this game is just that it's super generic in both title and characters.

I was honestly pretty excited for this game for a while, it looked like a pretty fun take on a Souls-like or maybe Souls-lite, and the demo from Steam Nextfest was pretty fun. Hearing that the rest of the game does feel like a good old video-game-ass video game makes me happy. Looking forward to grabbing it.

Found this on gamepass and I gotta say this game is actually pretty competent. Its the "Bloodborne on PC" I've been waiting for with all the pistoleering you do. Once you unlock a certain skill you can parry unblockables and once you get a certain armor piece you can just grenade everything. Currently addicted.

Something about the upgrades too is it makes you pick what you want and only upgrade that. Can't really expirament when you are destroying with the gun you've been upgrading the whole time.

The dying-drop-points-recover system killed it for me. The one gimmick I despise in "modern melee action games," also known as soulslikes (since melee action games not trying to be soulslikes are almost dead).

It feels strange when you strike basic ennemy in the face and theres no feedback. They don't flinch, theres basically no impact, you just see their health decrease. It's... Not that well made. It almost look like they ahave permanent hyper armor

Gameplay would've been awesome, but seems like everything has 150 poise and my attacks have almost 0 weight. Only way to play effectively is super defensive. Esp on harder difficulties where you can die in one hit to multiple enemies. This makes me appreciate how good Lies of P was

I got this game a week or two ago on game pass for an early download I was SO excited to play! I started playing like 3 days ago… WHY IS THE LEVEL “battle hardened” SO DIFFICULT even on normal I get the mini boss to half health and then I die and have to start all over… why can’t it save when the boss is at half health, I’ve been on this level for 3 days
