I stayed there about 45 years ago with my family and it was a blast as a kid. Sorry to see it go.

Nice video and remembrance of Bedrock City. We workamp for the new owners and it is amazing how many of our guests say that they visited Bedrock City in its day. Very unfortunate that the owner chose to let it get so run down that their contract was canceled and he opted to retire and sell the property. The "new" owners are doing a great job turning the property into an RV Resort. We enjoy working for them and Custer, SD is a fantastic place to visit. Kids today have no idea who the Flintstone's are....sad but true.

Unfortunately do to licensing and legalities not much could be saved. Not to mention the vandalism that happened. Out of the new owners control

I was there a few days ago and it's now a campground without a theme. Some of the buildings in the back lot are still painted the original color but all signage, characters, props, and almost everything else is gone. One large dinosaur is still standing between the front parking lot and the hotel next door.

The western part was always confusing; it didn't go with the theme at all.

What is the status of the Park? I've been going there sense I was very little and took my kids there as well. Now I see your closed:( Will you be open this year!!

I was never an owner of the park. Like you I too went there as a child. After I had a family I wanted to share this wonderful place with them. I made sure that I took lots of pictures when we got there and later made this video for other families to see on KZbin and help them remember as well. I'm sorry to tell you that the park was sold and I don't think that Flintstones Bedrock City in South Dakota will ever open there again. If I had to guess I would say that the owners of the land will end up going western. I think they have already started in the camping area of the property. I would love to be wrong.

"theme park?" It looks interesting, but definitely no theme park. I mean, where are the rides? It just appears to be a place decorated with Flintstones themed structures and statues. Guess that's worth 10 bucks, but it also looks like a ghost town.
@TECfan19 жыл бұрын
Theme park does not mean rides are necessary. It's just a themed tourist attraction.
