Awesome interview Joel, thanks for getting George on here to ask the questions we all have!

I can count on one hand the amount of pinball videos I've made it more than a minute into before turning off. Just wanted to say this is a great interview, and amazing work!

Great interview and very cool of George to address some of the community feedback the last week! While I was thrilled to have the opportunity to play John Wick and share my experience, I do agree it would have been great to see more pinball content creators have the same opportunity so there would have been a flood of videos about it upon release day from your favorite creators. I truly didn't expect the backlash of releasing my first impressions video as being a complete outsider to the pinball community as I've made plenty of videos about pinball. But maybe it'll open the door for people to welcome new people to the hobby as George mentioned. I definitely started in the home arcade space as many people have, and I enjoy playing more pinball than ever. Keep up the great content Joel, and thanks George!

Just wanted to say I’ve appreciated your professionalism on here and pinside but you shouldn’t feel like an outsider. A few mean loud voices can ruin a community and you should ignore them. Keep up the good work!

Great response, Bee You took a lot of unfair arrows after that video. You did great with the situation you were given! I'm a new view of yours since the pinball content!

Good stuff as always, Joel! Thanks George! I was one of those not mad for a second. I loved the John Wick movies, and just watched them all last year or two. I didn’t notice the gun art at all, but it didn’t matter. Cool there is an option to put an alternate plastic in the weapon crate to display fire arms(26:20), and the s video footage is still full of guns and violence like the movies. My thought before watching this interview was kids walk by these, and that’s probably the reason. George confirmed it.

+1 LOTR Vault! Puh-lease! (Spike 3?) Awesome info from the man himself. Great job Flip-N-Out. Love that Joel has become (always was?) the voice of reason in the community.

Great interview as usual Joel, and it’s always enjoyable and educational listening to George.

George hit it on the head that they shouldn’t wait to have gameplay streams 5 days after the pin is revealed. Live streams or prerecorded gameplay vids on the same day or day after reveal is definitely the way to go. It’ll help avoid a lot of the unnecessary and irrelevant vitriol that is unrelated to the actual game.

Excellent interview questions and George was awesome. He confirmed my suspicion about the difference between the 'passive' artwork and video asset content after the coin drop makes you a willing participant. Great insights. Thanks!
@doctoroctos8 ай бұрын
After the coin drop anyone in the room is a participant to the video display and sound effects. It still doesn’t make sense.
@slinger21128 ай бұрын
@@doctoroctos Yeah. All true. I think the argument is that someone (the player?) is flagged as the supervisor of the minor. Passing responsibility seems to be the goal?
@doctoroctos8 ай бұрын
Another use case is someone watching John Wick on airplane. How would someone know who is watching over their shoulder? If exposure was really the issue,then video assets are just as liable. Same for toys, kid sees the toys in a toystore. The art and plastics are not blurred. Feels like lionsgate messed up in a grey area decision. This isn’t my main gripe about the game though. I really expected a drop target heavy shooting game, centered 100% around fast, skilled, targeted shooting. Not what it is there.
@slinger21128 ай бұрын
@doctoroctos Yeah. I usually stick with lighter movies on the plane for that reason. Yeah. It sucks that the game isn't able to fully show the gunfu that made the movie's action stand out. I agree fast combo-based stuff would fit the fighting style of the theme. I need to watch the play stream a little more closely. The arcade near me usually gets a game in the first wave, so hope to try it out soon.

i flipped out with George once back in 1999 & it was a experience to say the least . I met him through a friend of my cousin Jack who was heavily into heavy metal music at the time & we were at his local bar having a few drinks & listening to Peace sells but who's buying on the cd jukebox one Friday night and Jack noticed me staring at the Judge Dredd pinball in the corner and said we should play it . A few games, laughs & tilts later Jack mentioned that theres this guy who is usually here Fridays that is really good at it . Anyway i gotta go make some sandwiches .

Some KZbinrs were literally crying, brandishing weapons and calling people p*ssies the second they saw no guns on Wick art lol ..hard to see the brainrot in people automatically assuming everything is political. Thanks for this, Joel and FLipNOut
@thunderfan778 ай бұрын
I just unsubscribed from a certain KZbinr from Texas because of the three videos worth of political agenda/propaganda they were heavily pushing and promoting because of this game. Who knew John Wick of all games would awaken the hibernating bear in their idiotic soul?

All the red tape has gotten out control in this country. Company's want to sell their brand and merchandise, then restrict designers to build and represent the best product that we the consumer want and will buy. Awesome interview Joel fellow Eagle Scout!

Great interview. I've been in the hobby since the 90s. But, sad to say, the day that Stern started "unlocking" game modes that were dependent upon whether or not I bought a stupidly priced topper is the day they lost me as a customer. I already paid $9500 for the machine, that should be enough to "give me" ALL the modes. Sorry George. I love my OG Monster Bash and LOTR though!

Why not make 2 art packages, 2 video packages. Arcades do have other gun games, so its on the onus of the arcade operator to what exposure they have. Hmm, I watched the stream. It didn’t change my opinion since release day.
