I was actually just watching an interview with Jason Lisle! He is very interesting and I’m hoping to read some of his books. I didn’t know he made some curriculum. He’s also in Co Springs where we lived for years.

I was looking into Wordly Wise and I heard some complaints that it comes from a liberal worldview in some of the reading portions. I did it growing up and don’t remember that. What do you think? Totally ordering the maps of the world book, love that!

Even if it does, it’s just giving you a perfect opportunity to have a discussion with your child on the topic. Think along the lines of asking what they think and asking them to provide evidence.

Just a word of advice, mom to mom. I was looking into buying wordly wise for my seventh grader, I had it in the cart ready to go and thought hmm let me just take one more look and read through the reviews. A lot of the reviews said they had previously loved the series, all of the younger books but this one was a major let down. Completely secular and pushing propaganda and am agenda onto the students, telling them they should believe x, y and z or feel shameful for not agreeing. I ended up buying word roots.

It has the normal earth is millions of years old etc. so my kids are aware and just don’t give it any mind. If that’s a huge deal, def skip it!

Great video!! Do you think the list of words could be considered “spelling words” for that week as well?! Or do you think having a separate program is necessary??

Thanks for this! What level did you start your kids on for Wordly Wise? I’m gonna look into the YWAM for young readers and try to see if I want to start with those or just go ahead with the regular books

Does Wordly Wise correspond well with current grade level? So if my daughter is going into 5th Id get level 5? Or do you find it more like TGTB and would need to level down?
