Okay, ima let y'all in on a little secret, I've been planning an object show for ages now, got all the characters, concepts, and even the name, this guide is helping me get the assets right and just the object show in general, best tutorial ever!

LOL this is just me... i never I never thought about making a real object show, I just had a concept. My real goal was a game. I've always done scripts as a hobby, but I think I'm going to try to animate my object show plan. :)

That gradient trick is genius! I will definitely use that. I’m trying to find the motivation to start on my upcoming object show, Grand Item Clash, and I made all 16 assets in June/ July 2022, and most of them look really bad (except for Mandolin, Clothespin, and Pecan), so I’m going to redo most of the assets.

Thanks!! About the thing with motivation, you can’t just wait for it to come. If you lose motivation it’s best to take a break for a small amount of time, and the most important thing is to set a schedule. Like each day make an asset. The thing I don’t understand is that with the blue shadow every time I try to do it the outline of the object gets darker and I don’t know how to make that stop

Yeah, that’s the thing with opacity. If you take 50% and add another line with 50% opacity on top, it would become darker (100%). It needs to be the same line sadly :/

For some reason, when I try do the colour for the character, it wouldn’t go behind it, is this just a mobile issue? Edit: it also doesn’t make that nice red shadow

You need to make an extra layer UNDERNEATH the outline. For the shadow you need to lower the opacity of the blue after you make the shadow

Yes there are over 3 layers, but only 3 of them are used.

Depends if you want the hair to move with the character or stay stationary. If you want it to move I’d say different layer
