All these years later, watching this performance and the previous year where they also won, which laid the first foundation of what was yet come in the following years. Like when ReQuest Dance Crew was the first international dance crew to compete in ABDC and then later that same year they formed their first Mega Crew under The Palace Studios and won. This was the beginning and just thinking of all the talented dancers and crews, and amazing choreography that have come out of The Palace Dance Studio since, is just phenomenal. PARRIS GOEBEL!!! Thank you for the journey so far. Keep it up girl, support and follow your journey til you call it quits girl. Ka nui taku aroha me taku whakaute mo a koe. Maruwehi tonu.

problem is that "hip hop" does NOT mean street dance. It is a STYLE of streetdance just like all the other styles you mentioned. Therefore, when you are doing the styles that you are mentioning, you are NOT doing hip hop. You're doing streetdances..but this is "Hip Hop" international...not "Streetdance" international..However, if this was the intention of the organizers, then they should consider changing the name.

WHATS JLO, BORING, DANCING WITH THE STARS, BORING, CIRQUE DU SOLEI, MAYBE... I KNOW THEY LOVE WHAT THEY DO, BUT STOP STEALING OTHER PEOPLES MOVES THATS WRONG AND TACKY. SO THAT PEOPLE MIGHT ACTUALLY SAY THEY CREATED A NEW STYLE BECAUSE JUST SWAPPING AROUND THE CHOREOGRAPHY IS SO EASY. MOST OF THESE TEAMS AT THIS COMP DO THAT, BUT THEY NEVER INSPIRE DANCERS TO WANT WHAT THEY DO WHEN THEY DANCE.... BE CREATIVE, NOT IMITATE..

I haven't watched much ABDC this year, so I'm no fan of one particular group. However after watching this I'm wonderin....HOW IN THEE WORLD DID THIS CREW GET EMLIMINATED? More together than Street Kingdom, and IMO more dynamic than Phunk Phenom, and THEY made the top three. haha OH YEA, America votes -_-. Not takin anything away from any of those other crews cuz it takes A LOT to get up in front of millions and preform your heart out, so MUCH respect to the remaining groups, they deserve it.

Why are people so angry over the fact that Request won? I have seen people say that they aren't "hip hop" enough or that they are too "weak". Are you kidding me? Hip hop expands to all types of dance: ballet, lyrical, b-boy, vogue, tutting. There isn't a specific style that is just "hip hop". Request incorporated all types of dance and they had the attitude and passion to back it up. And "weak"? The girl fell and got right back into the dance perfectly to the tee. So please, get over it
@tigernoots

hahah please these girls DEF deserved to win, ppl need to get over poreotics JUST because they won ABDC - these girls had no tricks, and STILL wowed the audience without tricks and just popping and locking... don't get me wrong poreotics still did amazing, but don't hate on these girls, and for the girl falling over, that is what a good dancer is all about, getting back up, not even LOOKING at the other girls and remaining in time... more power peace x

to all them haters out there get over yourselves and stop hating on these girls who worked there butts off to make it into the finals. Hip hop has evolved the styles of hip hop are diverse these days. What those girls done for there routine was amazing, they didn't hve 2 do over the top tricks, they were in sync with each other & the routine was tight. They must be doing something right as they're the only ones to take out GOLD in Varsity and GOLD in Adults show me another team thats done that

@azn1prince and its not just the media behind this comp, There are professionals that also judge and have inputs. You have original and then you have modern hip hop. It is not taking over hip hop its the same. and if things were "your" way then 1000's of people wouldn't even be dancing hip hop. If its just break, locking and popping. it would have died? just staying with those limited styles. There is nothing wrong with Hip hop - Original and Modern
@daynegerous1992
@daynegerous1992 13 жыл бұрын
@azn1prince, Well im not dissing Moncell but i really dont think a corse in hip hop will make a solid career path. and i dont know what kind of qualifications a person could recieve from taking this corse at university. Im not fussed, To me what Request performed was hip hop. its not 100% pure hip hop, But there are bits and pieces that are. Hip Hop has become more grown more bigger and i dont know whats so bad about that? Its not like its fully taking over Original hip hop, Its still dance
@daynegerous1992
@daynegerous1992 13 жыл бұрын
@azn1prince its not solid. Even tho im not into ballet. Ballet is what you call a solid genre. He teaches at university? What kind of corse is it? where does it lead you? what qualifications in life can this "Hip Hop" corse get you? If there was set boundaries then we wouldnt be having this argument. I dance, i call myself a hip hop dancer? but i dont break, pop or lock. or any of the OG stuff just some... does that not make me a hip hop dancer? aswell as 1000s of people like me and Request?
@daynegerous1992
@daynegerous1992 13 жыл бұрын
@azn1prince ... theres always gonna be two sides... people who think this isnt hip hop and people who think it is I dont see the big deal about it. Hip Hop isnt a solid genre compared to ballet or jazz like you can't exactly study hip hop in university. so that might be why theres always people debating over what and whats not hip hop. thats why i dont think people have right to say "THATS NOT HIP HOP". im not saying its 100% hip hop... but it definitely has influences and fusions of hip hop.

@caboose7donut.... It doesnt matter who shouldve won? what matters is who won. And the facts are Request came 1st and poreotics came 2nd... I Like both crews and im glad it was between the 2. But as for your definition about what competition is. i dont think so. Its about expressing what you have by showing your ability and skills aswell as competing against others. Also bringing some thing new and different. they did great but its 2011 now... cant people just get over it?

@daynegerous1992 no ur right i guess i dont know, years of dance battles an intricate battles have thought us nothing, this basically simple dance, when compared to other more intricate dances, i saw the poreotics for the first time on a video here an it was the one that they got second place to these girls, i thought i was going to see a mega crew win 1st and when i saw with what they won i was like thats bullshit, and it annoyed me
@daynegerous1992
@daynegerous1992 13 жыл бұрын
@020jag honestly. I dont give a shit what LXD is. theres gonna be people that say this aint hip hop and people that say this is. Their routine may not have been 100% pure hip hop but theyve still incorporated hip hop into their routine. Hip hop is different to what it used to be back in the day but now, its still that but just more influenced with other styles . This routine still has hip hop in it cause if it didnt they wouldnt have come anywhere... but they came 1st... and thats a fact.
@DigitallyDisjointed
@DigitallyDisjointed 13 жыл бұрын
@daynegerous1992 im sorry i thought i made it clear, this is not hip hop at all, there is a series online called the LXD, compare that dancing to this, and then tell me if it is, hip hop at its core is about being flashy out there and freaking awesome to the point that pissed people off, at its core its still competitive an adaptive. i see this as a brilliantly choreographed movement, its spot on but its not hip hop an shouldnt be displayed in a stage like that
@DigitallyDisjointed
@DigitallyDisjointed 13 жыл бұрын
@daynegerous1992 um sorry to tell you but hip hop is both to a loud degree, hip hip began as a way to show off flashy interesting new moves as well as to express the underclasses style, they shouldnt have won, hip hop dance battles include large sections of dancing that ll dancers execute, but a good crew puts out their best dancers to add uniqueness, this was a powerful choreographed piece but not merit to a title win against a crew that used varying styles of the art
@Chyyna1000
@Chyyna1000 12 жыл бұрын
So what's the problem? they're doing what they love. The steps might not be original but the way they dance and the choreography is. HHI Worlds judges told them how it is and so did J.LO and Dancing with the stars and Cirque du soleil and so much more dance experts. Therefor your comment is useless buuuut it's still your own opinion lol not that anyone gives a shyte!
@jetblackhair92
@jetblackhair92 12 жыл бұрын
I SEE THEY ARE REPLICATING MOVES THAT HAVE BEEN DONE AND THAT ARE ALREADY OUT THERE. THEIR TIMINGS ARE ACCURATE AND ON POINT BUT THEY ARE UN-ORIGINAL. WHAT INSPIRES THEM TO BE LIKE THIS. THEY NEED TO STAND OUT AND STOP COPYING OTHER PEOPLES STYLES BECAUSE THATS JUST CHEAP AND NOT WORKING FOR THEM.. SOMEONE HAS TO TELL THEM HOW IT IS..
@heyyyitsrandy
@heyyyitsrandy 13 жыл бұрын
@xhandhele no disrespect man but for you to say they aren't diverse enough is honestly stupid . look at their performances very closely . they incorporate so much more than what ABDC was asking for . they lost to a ONE-sided crew . that is coming from someone who krumps . i know a handful of krumpers that agree to the fact that they got robbed .

I'm a fan of all these different dance styles, but there's something a lot of you people need to understand. True Hip Hop consists of 4 things only: Bboying, MCing, DJing, and Graffiti. Most of the things you see in the media under "Hip Hop" is incorrectly labeled, including this competition. Perhaps the more appropriate label for these dance styles would be "Urban".
@wulfio
@wulfio 13 жыл бұрын
@starrystarstruck maybe when poreotics does something more than iso's and tutting in a routine mixed in with tired comedy to make up for lack of creative transitions they will win something. I will give this to them though, the 2010 HHI performance by poreo was a lot better then the one dimensional performances they've been doing up till then.

@azn1prince A little too early to say history of hip hop when it only started what? in the 1970s? 1960s? When it comes to university. It will ALWAYS lead towards a career path?. If his corse is simply about teaching the history and culture of it? It shouldnt be a university standard corse. Every corse entitles a person to some kind of qualification.
