Not an enclosed trailer in sight! Back when you built the car, the engine and the trailer yourself, hooked it up behind the F150, threw the toolbox in the bed and went racing! REAL racing!

I can't believe this video exists! This was my home track in Bulls Gap, TN. I spent many Saturday nights in the late 70's, early 80's watching Johnny Carr and Buzz Collins dual it out on the 1/8 mile dirt track. This race was the week after I graduated college. I really miss those days. You really could tell what make and model of cars they were.

Hey! I'm looking for help from anyone that could help me. I'm looking for old photos of my uncle Bobby Sipe. I'm not sure what class he ran. But he passed away in the 90s from cancer. Any help or info would be appreciated

This is the racing I grew up with. Build a car in your garage and take it to the track with your old pick up truck.

LARRY Moore. What a talented driver and personality. NASCAR should have swooped him up !

Could say the same thing about Lil Bill Corum. The man was as good as anyone. Loved to watch him. Was always such a thrill to a young guy to get to go watch him, and all of the guys. I didn't see a #222 of Leon Archer. He was a darn good racer too. I appreciate these old videos.

I've read Larry Moore's book and he said he didn't even consider NASCAR until the mid-late 80s. It wasn't until then that the money in NASCAR really blew up. Larry was already in his mid to late 40s by then so it was too late. A lot of the top short track racers on dirt and asphalt had the same mindset. A lot of them would have been taking a pay cut to race in NASCAR in the 70s-early 80s. Dick Trickle had numerous opportunities in the 70s to race full time in NASCAR but he said he would have made less money. By the time he started racing full time in NASCAR he was pushing 50, but he switched because that's when the money exploded down there. Multi-million dollar sponsorships and merchandise/licensing revenue that was unfathomable just a few years earlier changed the landscape in NASCAR forever.

these Decades of Dirt videos are not 4 sale as of right now , when picking these up that was never discussed as the person with these DVDs just wanted to preserve East Tn Racing History. Now you said highlights , I do film races and those are at thenewspeedwayvideos . net
