I’m actually surprised how accurate this cartoon is. People would think this game is lame, but it’s actually really intense and fun. Who knew that having an inaccurate single shot muzzle loading firearm and then being required to stand in a line out in the open could be actually really suspenseful. I also love how they game rules are, in order for your team to have a better chance in winning, you would need to stay in formation. Instead of a kill/point system, it’s morale. If you die in formation, your death has little impact on your teams morale, however if you’re out of formation trying to Rambo about, your death would actually hurt your team. Great way to actually encourage players to engage in the tactics back then. Not mention actually how immersive it is. This is actually a Civil War simulator done right. You actually would be missing out if you don’t try this game. Nothing is more satisfying then charging with your whole team in an epic bayonet charge and successfully overwhelm your enemy. Definitely try this out people.

if CoD made a civil war game, you see confederates with machineguns and apparently reloading faster than an assault rifle
@TheUSgoverment Жыл бұрын
Ok honestly tho. A CoD game might work in the civil war if the maps were much more open and there was like 8v8 or 10v10 and bigger modes of 20v20 or 32v32. The primaries would be muskets that very easily kill but take a while to reload, each have slight differing stats, repeater semi automatic rifles that kill in 2-4 shots with less accuracy but shoot faster and take less time to reload, 1 or 2 bolt action rifles that could still reliably kill with 1 shot to the head or upper chest but still shot faster then muskets and have more then 1 bullet and breach loaders that sort of operate the same, along with 1 offs and civilian weapons that weren't used but could just be from guerrillas and irregulars like shotguns. And all the secondaries would be revolvers, single shot pistols, and things like volcanic repeater and the lemat. Modifications like extending or sawing off the barrel for range/movement speed. adding buttstocks, changing the bands, different muzzle rifling, makeshift stock pouches and iron sights, belts, ammo types and bayonets. The lethals could be the ketchum grenade, a land mine, the hatchet and some of the era's improvised explosives. The tacticals could be like a bugle that makes all the team around you run faster, a defective explosive that still appears as that, small fortifications like a pile of sandbags or a box, and a medical kit appropriate for the time that gives/ fastens the regeneration of health and an ammo box. All the killstreaks could be like an artillery bombardment, a real proper deployable cover, a machine gun both operated by AI and manner by players, air balloon that works like the UAV, Naval bombardment, a counter barrage/naval mines to hinder or stop the enemy fire, armored train that's like a ground VTOL and more. the tactical nuke would probably be just like a massive, comically large barrage that deafens you completely and kills all the enemies but everyone in your team too close to an enemy too. The maps would be all styled after battles, a big open field with all sorts of hills, trees, covers and small shacks to be stay in. A fancy plantation house mansion with fancy paintings that get filled up with bullet holes and turned over furniture as cover. A field/orchard with areas you could sort of hide in the crops. A forest full of trees and changing ground levels trees. A big city. the outsets of a small farming village. Indian grounds. A desert. A capture the flag mode on 2 sides of a river with bridges that could be destroyed and rebuilt. A KOTH game on a big hill with defenses and earthworks. Like man you could run far with a concept like that

As much as I appreciate the insane attention to accuracy and the coordinated teamplay of this game, what really brings me back repeatedly is how I actually live in Maryland and regularly go to the area of the battles in this game as they're now some of the best parklands in the state. So every once in a while I'll be bludgeoning a guy with a rifle stock and think "Oh hey I've been here in real life!" before immediately dying due to my distraction. What gets better is that my ancestors include veterans on both sides. My mother's side includes a railroad employee who became a Union partisan, and my father's side includes a Tennesseean whose fought at the siege of Harper's Ferry and was later captured at Gettysburg. So basically this is my go-to ancestral trauma simulator, I can feel the thousand yard stare of my forefathers.
