Bruh these wild cards are such a pain. The cost to actually get a deck that I really want to play is driving me away from Arena. You can say "mad cuz poor" but in all reality I'd rather spend my money on real physical cards than digital cardboard 😢

Good thing is that theres so many staples. Lots of cards you can use in lots of Decks (like 70% of every Dimir Deck is already set in stone before you start building)

The main problem is the wild-cards required for dual lands. You are at a massive disadvantage without them, so every time an old rare dual land cycle is replaced, you need 40 rare wild cards to continue for the non singleton formats.

They should at least make lands either free or a separate kind of wildcard which are easier to get. I hate having to craft sets of rare lands to be competitive in standard.

This is exactly why I don't play Arena. I took a break from paper magic for 20 years, came back in 2022 because my brother got me back into it with commander. Tried to play on Arena, I just can't do it. I would rather just buy paper cards.

really interesting build! i've tried it with a full lotus field package and it's been absolutely gross even when i don't draw field since stifle effects are so good in brawl. (and of course when i pull off lotus stifle it's absolutely backbreaking.)

At around 30 mins you couldve attacked with derevi and with tashas trigger used tidebinder cuz when you atrack tasha it creates a trigger

This is fun. I started playing Brawl and it's just fun, try some things, see what works, and mostly good games. Uh though, I love Sai the thopter master maker, but I just can't seem to make it work as a commander. Never said I was good at this game; I just love it.

1:00:10 When you didn't go for the Solitude to get rid of the terror, I wondered if it would cost you in the end, and it did. The lifegain from it might have been good enough and you wouldn't have taken so much damage from the Terror. I know you wanted the card draw. But that was a gamble I wouldn't have taken.

Volatile Storm Drake gifts itself to an opponent while stealing one of their creatures. So you bounce their dragon back to your hand so you can steal something else with it.

Derevi was the first "designed for commander" mistake ever, and by god did it get only worse. This is tame compared to some of the BS you get nowadays.

Derevi I think was easily the most pushed of the commanders from that set for sure but if we want to say actual mistake Marath from those same decks was errata’d before the decks even came out because so one on the design team thought that someone would say X equals zero.

@@DerekS-kq3zh Theyre from the same set. Derevi is way more egregious than Oloro is. Cheating a fundamental part of the format is bonkers. Oloro's gain 2 clause was annoying, but not nearly as broken. Oloro ability lead to much worse stuff like Edgar Markov and The Ur Dragon.

I love Derevi, it was my first commander deck and i dismantled it because the salt was too high (thank you Nadu, t3feri, Oko and infinite combo's) but i'm thinking of building it again. That being said, more Derevi content please!
