Cool comics! Now that was a trip down memory lane. I remember those ads, especially the Tang one. My favorite comics back in the day were Garfield, Calvin and Hobbes and Archie. I still have most of them from when I was young. I had a Madball too.

@@lgf213 thanks! Always happy to provide a trip down memory lane! Those comics you mentioned are among my all time favorites. They’re still fun to revisit to this day. I read a C&H comic strip just about every day.

Great comics! That Rainbow Brite ad that we saw in one of the comics was actually for the show when it was brand new. Those first five episodes were basically the pilot for the show, before Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer came out in November, 1985, and then the remaining episodes of the TV show, which only totaled eight episodes for a total of 13 episodes, aired in 1986. I never saw Heathcliff growing up. I think it's because I grew up in the 90's and the show didn't air in reruns up here, and same goes for Madballs. As Madballs only had the VHS releases, and not an actual TV series.

@@tgif1345 interesting, I had forgotten that Rainbow Brite only ran for 13 episodes. Madballs missed out by not airing that show on network tv, could have made them more popular!

@@TheCassettePhase Yeah, it really wasn't that long of a show. And it wasn't a show that I watched on TV, because Rainbow Brite didn't air in reruns up here when I was a kid. I saw it all on VHS since my parents rented the episodes for me from the video store. Lol. Yeah, but that's the way it was for some IPs in the 80's and 90's I guess. And you mentioned at the end of the video that networks back then put alot of effort and care into programming blocks. And I agree with you on that. I just did a blog post on the shows I watched that aired as part of TGIF on Friday nights in the 90's, and yeah, networks put alot of effort and care into those special programming blocks that are now only in our memories.

I liked both but Garfield was and still is my favorite fat cat. 50 words or less, lol. I would have struggled with that, as I'm a wordy person. It's fun to look through the comic books.
