Shannon's vulnerability is everything. Loved the humor and stories this epi. As much as it sucks to lose control of editing, I'm glad she'll have more time for research and feel prepared. I can't believe she did it all herself to begin with. Podcasters usually have teams of sound engineers and producers and cohosts and editors. Truly proves how genius shannon truly is but doesn't let on. 🌈🌈 From a bi girl: HAPPY LESBIAN VISIBILITY WEEK ❤ love u all!

First off let me say, Shannon I am very sorry for your loss, and I appreciate you still taking the time to make an intro for this episode. Because honestly, you could have just said, "I can't do it," and just started the episode without one, but you chose to remain authentically you, by showing that you aren't always having good days. And that's totally normal, because we all hurt. We all feel sad, and we have to give those feelings as much of a voice and weight as we do the happy ones. Love you right back.❤ On the episode: This episode brought me so much joy. This podcast is truly my favorite part of the week. Every single episode makes me think, and there's always something in them that makes me feel seen. I feel the same as Leandra when it comes to wishing I had been able to be myself growing up, but I did the same thing as her...I pushed away any feelings for girls that felt "wrong" to me because I was scared of what other people would say, even though my first kiss was with a girl when I was nine, and it was perfect. Honestly, I currently identify as bi/pan, but not because I felt like it was easier to come out as that, but because I've never been in a relationship with anyone, and I honestly don't know if I like girls or guys more. I just know I'm attracted to both. Both males and females give me insane butterflies in my stomach and warm fuzzy feelings. And by the way what Teagan said to Leandra put me all the way in my feels.😭Leandra seems like such a funny delightful person, and it was cool getting to know her a little through this episode.❤ Thank you for bringing joy to my week.

37:46 these are the exact words I needed but didn’t quite understand until hearing you say this. ❤ it’s so scary when you have no idea what’s going on (esp at such a young, vulnerable age in life) but people are hurling verbiage at you with an undertone of “this is wrong” that will make you averse to it.

Cool video, My relationship of 5 years ended a month ago. The love of my life decided to move on, I really loved her so much i can’t stop thinking about her and the memories we shared. I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail. I’m frustrated, and i don’t see my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts, but i can’t.

Respectfully and lovingly - I am a disappointed to hear that you’re dating already. I was really hoping you’d spend time alone, enjoy your own company and work through what holds you back. I hope you hold space for that growth and don’t get lost in another relationship. (I’m currently perusing a career in Sexual Therapy and will specialize in queer women’s sexual health, education and pleasure. Growing alone for a bit holds so much value). Wishing you the best.

This is so cool. I saw the Beaches and the Aces at Boston Calling '23, and saw the band's again on later tours afterward. The Aces' show at the Royale in Boston was my first time at the venue. The entrance is so hole-in-the-wall that I walked all around the block. I saw two people stepping out a door to the alley and the Royale logo was stenciled onto the inside of the door. I was all "Excuse me. Can you tell me how to get to the front entrance of the Royale? I'm here for the Aces concert." The woman lifted the brim of her and shook my hand "Oh my God, you're here to see my band! Hi, I'm Cristal!". I introduced myself and quickly talked about the band's show in May. She's so cool and down to earth.

Personally, as an MTF, I definitely wonder what it would've been like to come out earlier. While I've been connecting more with queer women since... I learned who Sally Ride was. But in the 90's, 2000's, and even 2010's, society wasn't thar accepting of transwonen. Especially if they can't pass for cis female. Before I had come out, some lesbians had crushed on me, and one used quite the line in some punny repartee. A middle school classmate asked me if I was a d*ke, so people could recognize the queerness.

Question- I know you said that you will most likely propose first (when that day comes), and I know most of that is from you saying you don’t like surprises and stuff like that, but is part of it also because you date femmes? Some people assume that the more masc leaning person should be the one to propose. I’m a chapstick lesbian/ “stem” that dates femmes and I’ve always thought it was cute when femmes propose to their chapstick/ masc partners and I’d love for a femme to be the one to propose to me
