I really like the Efoil solutions negative shims. I’m flying with a 1300 flow S wing with a -2 shim and a -1 shim with my 290 stab. I also use the battery box seal protection because I already ripped a seal off my board before this nice little seal guard was invented. Everone should get one before you tear your seal off and have water intrusion into your battery box!!! Nice and level ride now with the negative shims and no more nose in the air. Still nice and loose and better control now with efoil solutions negative shims. I’m thinking about getting the efoil solutions efoil cart and I’m hoping Jeff at efoil solutions will send you one so that you can do some videos for all of us to see.

Rolando, efoil solutions also offers neg shins. For front wing and stab wing. Also 40 bucks for a 5-piece set for each. Figured you’d be interested. Abcs

Good information. My fliteboard 3 makes a loud annoying whistle. Is this normal? My older lift 2 silent in comparison. It even makes the noise at low speeds when just getting going. It can't be from the wings or prop guard. Any thoughts?
@Coach_Rolando
@Coach_Rolando Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delay… I just saw this. Ok I got that noise as well … depending on the wing that I have… it happen on my “race wing” and my 900S… It drove me nuts… later I came to find out that other people were complaining just like you in diff wings that I did not have a problem with. After several research I found out that is a minor “defect” from factory on building the wings. Nothing to worry about… you will not loose any performance in anyway at all… but is F snowing for sure. You have this super quiet eFoil but you have the whistling noise that disturbs everyone and it can be embarrassing too lol. So here is the deal… you have to lightly sand down the “trailing edge” of the wing that is making the noise(back of the wing)… it could be the front wing or the rear wing… you have to do this in the “flat part” of the rear of the wing. You probably will notice a tinny “bevel”… so try to sand that down with a 1000 grid sand paper with water. You just gave me an idea to make a video about that… hang in there and soon I’ll make a video. Thank you forceje question and please subscribe. Be safe and have fun.

Thank you for the review. I finally had the time to watch it. My question is how these negative shims are affecting efficiency, because an optimal flow system should work best with 0 shims. Is there a difference in your flight recordings in power drain and speed, or are they fairly identical ?
@Coach_Rolando
@Coach_Rolando Жыл бұрын
it does creates "drag" if you are asking me...but is minimum to the point that is not noticeable on the "final run"...It will make your run more stable and fast at the same time... But again...this is for whom wants to go really fast...im my case 12 to 14 gear...Put this way...the faster you go the more lift the board will have to the point that you will need to move forward on the nose correct...thus making the run unstable sometimes...So with the shim (my choice was -1...I did not used the -2 as much) -1 makes you stay closer to the mast...and as you go faster the board does not wants to lift as much...I found that from the gear 10 to 14 not only I kept my back foot closer to the mast and on the top of that I did not had to move forward...I just put kore pressure on the front foot...but it was super stable...the faster you go the more "stable" the board becomes without having to move forward and the "speed was the same" as if I ws on the 0 shim...now I got to 14 with the same results and I had to confess that form that speed and on I was getting a bit concerned cause you are going easy about 32MPH or 50MPH...so I kept my speeds below that. But consumption wise it was the same...if there was a diff I can say that is was not very noticeable ... I hope this helps your question and doubts ... thank you for watching bud.

Great video, thanks man! Now I understand shims much better. I am riding a standard Fliteboard with a zero shim and the prop guard off. I might look into getting a negative shim set, although I'm 110 kg so not 100% sure, sorry don't know what that is in pounds, I'm in Australia and we went to metric when I was in primary school (grade school).
@Coach_Rolando
@Coach_Rolando Жыл бұрын
Hi mate...so you are about 220 Lbs...I dont think you will need the negative shims...due to your weight I'm sure you are relatively well balanced on your board...before you get the negative shims you have to find out what type of riding you like better....also you an play with diff front wings before you switch the shims...wha wing are you riding now and how you like to ride your board...fast, slow, carving, surfing??
@felixVanDiemen
@felixVanDiemen Жыл бұрын
@@Coach_Rolando thanks for your reply. I like riding pretty slow and carving. I have been using the cruiser 1100, but have ordered a flow 1300 wing set. I have a True Glide prop but haven’t fitted it yet as it was missing the washer. My ambition is to get into riding waves with the True. Glide and carving with the flow 1300. I live on the coast in southern Australia. I am thinking of pairing the flow front wing with the Flite 500 stabiliser to maximise my gliding? Thanks for your great videos and for your generosity in sharing your knowledge.
@Coach_Rolando
@Coach_Rolando Жыл бұрын
@@felixVanDiemen So on that note most likely oi will not need a negative shim cause you will not be going so fast...yes the 1300 s will be by far the best wing to have for surfing and slow speeds...now if the waves you will be riding on is really fast and steep them you might need the shims...the 500 stab might slow you down too much and it will not be as maneuverable ,,, the 245 will deff be super loose for sure but will also increase your speed on the waves .. I think you will be ok with the 290 or the 245 stabs and play around with them for a while before you get the 500 stab...the 500 was made more for cal waters and were heavy rides for cruising and long distances. Now if you get your True Glide Prop pleas watch my videos here about them cause you can damage them if you are not taking good care of it...also I only use mine if I know ill be going surfing...there is no benefit on them if you are just riding flat water.... is cheaper to replace a $45 them a $250 prop if something goes wrong agreed? Have fun and let me know how you are progressing mate ...cheers

@@Coach_Rolando Thanks mate! Yep I have definitely watched your videos on the TGP and I agree I think it's best to use the standard prop unless riding waves. And actually my Fliteboarding is about 50% ocean and 50% river so it makes sense. The only problem that comes up is that Fliteboard say you should only use the prop nut once then throw it away. I seem to remember you saying that you have used the nuts more than once with no problems? As far as damage to my TGP with air flow while transporting, I'm okay as my Fliteboard slides in the back of my Toyota Hiace no worries 😎 Cheers mate and I'll definitely let you know how it goes.

Hi Rolando, I looked up the company that makes the shims and I was wondering if you ever ever used their shim pack. It’s very interesting. They have a set for $29 of one through four negative shims and also I believe one through five shims for the front wing. My question is have you ever tried those with the front and back negative shims supposedly it’s supposed to make the board ride really flat and even as far as the amount of pressure you need to put on the board, I’ve looked through your videos and haven’t seen that, but it might be interesting for you to do a video on the characteristics of those shims along with the front shim. Anyway, thank you for referring me to that site.
@Coach_Rolando
@Coach_Rolando 8 ай бұрын
@@genze58 I Have not tried that company’s shims … however I’m familiar with the rear shims and I can give you my opinion on what would be the benefits m…,basically if you have a front negative shim that will make your board not have as much lift there for it will make step more tar wards the back to the board… as I mentioned here… the closer your back foot or your weight is closer to the mast the more stable you will be. But I don’t think that the front shim should be the to “radical”… meaning a smaller number negative shim will be the ideal… but I don’t know how their selection comes. I hope this helps
