Hi Dave. As a experienced carper who likes 20lb stunning English carp in natural surroundings is float fish farm not for me? Love to know ur thoughts.
@ChasingCarpDS3 жыл бұрын
Hello Pete, there’s some stunning carp in the lakes but the complex itself is pretty new (10ish years) and is therefore quite immature when it comes to aesthetics, one thing you can’t do with a lake is age them 50+ years so if it’s that sort of surrounding you are looking for then I’d say Float Fish wouldn’t be your thing. Plenty of hard fighting nice looking carp there but needs some more time yet to develop its look.

@@ChasingCarpDS thanks for the reply, thats what i thought, i have a mate who's learning a bit so may have to go and amuse him for a night which i could cope with just. Thanks again

@@petesmith4158 yeah it's good for a few fish depending on the lake, good chance of a 20 on a few of the lakes, Lapwing obviously has the bigger fish but is quite weedy. If you're around this area (and can actually get on a lake) then Bluebell is much more established and mature but usually rammed

Nice I been float fish farm in Peterborough what’s the best tack ticks

Very much depends on the lake and specific swim you're fishing mate, especially so on Lapwing as there's quite a lot of weed so approach changes from one swim to another

I was in peg 5, lots of bottom weed but very fishable with a chod rig

@@ChasingCarpDS I’m there in august, my friend is in peg 5 and I will be in peg 6, any advice to give ?
@ChasingCarpDS3 жыл бұрын
5 and 6 both have a fair amount of weed in front of them, I searched around for a couple of hours looking for clear spots but was honestly a bit of a waste of time, although I found a few spots in the end I probably should've just sent out 3 chod rigs. I created my own feature with a bed of bait at 11 wraps and fished to that, Manilla mix worked well for me and then a range of different hookbaits to see what they fancied, I had 1 fish on Manilla and the big one on the Mulbz. If you do get a run get the rod up high and keep them moving, few of the others I was fishing with lost fish because they buried themselves in the weed so as soon as I got my runs I lifted the rod high and kept them on the move throughout the fight

Did you find middle swim was fishing aswell as the other pegs ? Only ask as a lot of the others are in corners with something more to cast to ? Cheers
@ChasingCarpDS3 жыл бұрын
@@edclark8533 there were a couple of others who lost a fish each from peg 1 and 6 but no-one else had anything, all of the pegs have something to fish to, obviously 3 and 4 have a more obvious feature with the point and they quite often produce but a lot of others say 2 and 5 are their favourite swims. In the end I created my own features of bait fished over the central plateau area and accepted it was going to be fishing over weed. I certainly wouldn't rule out any of the swims as they all have options to fish to

We go to the home lake I’m a huge carp angler fan

If you're fishing home lake I'd suggest using a balanced hook bait/wafter and a pva stick of boilie chops and pellet, find where the fish are showing and try to cast to those spots and build up a nice bed of bait, just keep the rigs on those spots and you should have plenty of success. Always found pink baits work well in there, I tend to use the Sticky Baits Krill pink wafter and usually have quite a few out
