Float Fly Saturday

This is some video from my local RC club - KCRC - 2nd annual float fly at a members private lake in the middle of Missouri.
The day started with a rain delay and as soon as the rain left the winds came and scared away some of the pilots. However they missed a hoot of a good time as when the sun came out the pilots that hung around were treated to a warm August day and some stellar, albeit windy, float flying. As usual I started with a bit of FPV, enjoyed the 700 foot waver for the event and attempted to follow some of the planes around the lake although that proved nearly impossible as the winds aloft were very turbulent and a bit "exciting" but not in a good way.....lol.
So I abandoned that idea and flew from the ground and had a blast both flying and watching(and videoing) the other pilot's float birds. Craig and Dennis and Cliff and I had an absolute BLAST flying from the water and while there were a few mishaps requiring retrieval with the boat as well as one bird ending up in the highest tree in the area, it was still a lot of fun and I look forward to doing it again next year, or sooner. hell yeah!
