sometimes it feels like floating away into your own reality is easier than standing with you feet on the ground. but sometimes we have to find a way to come back down to earth...
this is a poem I wrote about derealization and using floating away into your head as a coping mechanism for when mental health really sucks.
I really hope this could speak to you in some way.

About me:
Hi, I'm Ash. I'm passionate about writing, film making and nature. I love to write poetry, mainly about mental health and my views on life in hopes of speaking to someone in any way. Writing helps me to escape and channel my thoughts into something tangible. Creating videos has been such an important creative outlet for me over the years and my dream is to study film making one day. Wildlife has been a huge part of my life and having that connection with nature helps me to keep going when things get tough. Through film and writing I'd love to try and capture the beauty of our planet.
I'm just trying to figure everything out and create things along the way haha.
Subscribe to come along on the journey!!
You are worthy and loved and strong and freaking gorgeous I mean wow
luv ya,
Ash

I think it’s amazing how different words rhyme in different accents. I can definitely relate to feeling like everything makes sense and then the next second, it doesn’t. I think this would make a brilliant song!
@AshaLoonFilms

haha yeah that’s so true about the accents like in some lyrics certain words rhyme in the singers accent but not with mine haha. that feeling is so tricky to handle, I’m glad you can relate and ah I would love to put the poem into song form!✨✨💚

This is truly remarkable! Some of the stuff you talk about describes how I got interested in astral travel and other ways to decouple my spirit self from my physical body. What I've learned is that the only way to truly imagine nothingness is to imagine everythingness in the sense that you're part of everything and it's all connected, all one, to just imagine literally everything being a single entity and then imagine that one thing, the universe, not existing and what you have is a blank canvas. And then you realize that the nothingness is like the void in between the particles that comprise us. I used to think nothingness was pure darkest dark blackness but then I realized it's actually clear, like a dull yet infinitely bright transparent whiteness, a nothing-land universe would be one where if you were to step onto it you'd cease to exist because it has to maintain its state of nothingness. It's kind of like picturing something colder than absolute zero but hotter than infinity degrees at the same time. I feel my happiest when I connect with the universe on a spiritual level. It has been a really scary year but I have so much optimism for the future. A bright, beautiful, wonderful future. As I finally go back to work I feel kind of sad that I won't have the time I used to, one thing I liked about quarantine was that I got to spend so much time watching people like you and others I watch whereas I'm normally not a social media kind of person, more someone who prefers to spend her time amongst nature, I'm going to miss y'all but I'm going to try to watch more than I did before since you and a few other people on here I consider friends helped get me through quarantine, and I look forward to going home later this year and spending the holidays with my family

This is such an amazing poem, some of the concepts you describe are so deep and powerful to think about. Believe it or not, there was an ancient Greek philosopher Gorgias who believed that nothing existed, if something did exist nothing could be known about it, even if something could be known about it it could not be communicated, even if it could be communicated it could not be understood. He was one of the first nihilistic philisophers Also, this got me thinking of how sometimes it's actually almost amazing to me that I'm actually alive and I'm not just a passive observer, I'm not just a movie camera documenting information, I'm part of "everybody". It's weird, we all KNOW we're alive, but we don't really feel what it means most of the time.

Wow, thank you SO much for this incredible comment. You are such a thoughtful person and I absolutely love reading your insightful, interesting comments. That’s so interesting about the Greek philosopher. I absolutely love and relate so much to what you said about how sometimes it’s amazing and almost strange to this about how you are alive and not just an observer. I feel like an observer most of the time. Maybe the observers are the ones who are able to feel the most alive in the end...? It’s a pretty special feeling when you feel that most of OH MY GOODNESS IM ALIVE!! thank you again for this wonderful comment 💚✨

@@AshaLoonFilms Yes! It's like this incredible feeling washes over you like "OMG! I'm actually alive! GURL THIS IS JUST STUNINNG I'M LITERALLY AMAZED! it's so funny that the topic of derealization and depersonalization have been crossing my path so much for the last few days... i'm struggling a lot with mental health. i have depression and anxiety, and it's been tough. i guess i've experienced some common things about derealization but like, once in a while and it's small so i don't think i could be diagnosed with having the disorder, maybe for me is just related to my anxiety....i havent seen a therapist in quite a while 😅 BUT GREAT POEM!!!! IT'S BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Dude thank you SO much, it makes me so happy to know you could relate and it could speak to you!!! I also have depression and anxiety and aghhh it can be SO tough to deal.... I guess derealization kind of comes as a lil added bonus to that lmao. But I’m so proud of you for getting through it!!!💕 thanks so much for watching and I’m so glad you liked it, means a lot!!

Wow, Ash... WOW. I think this is your strongest, the most powerful and the most beautiful work, for now. How do you manage to express so many feelings and thoughts with those words? Just... amazing. I mean, seriously. It's almost hypnotizing. This is what is called Art. I even have nothing to say or add 🙂 Except maybe this: "nothing" actually contains everything in it. "nothing" is bigger than every "something" ever existed... idk if it makes any sense to you 😅

Thank you SO much Alex! This is my favourite poem I’ve ever written so it means a lot you think it’s the most powerful. Recently I’ve been writing so much and I have so many poetry videos waiting to be uploaded! ;) And that’s a very interesting thought about how “nothing” really could be everything. Or contain everything. How even nothing really isn’t nothing at all...✨

Ash, you are incredible and incredibly talented. I know you are going through some scary times right now but I just wanted to let you know that everything is going to be alright. You will find clarity before you know it. Your poem is amazing! You are amazing! The sooner you realize that ,the sooner you will settle in your mind and body. As you know we are here for you just as you're here for us. Your content in whatever form keeps me sane. Well as sane as is possible! Thank you for sharing this and everything else with us. I still have the chills from this one and I have watched it 3 times. But I'm not finished yet! ❤️🥶
