Flocculation test prior to a DAF-FPAC20 flotation unit | SIGMADAF Clarifiers

SIGMA GROUP has carried out the design, construction and commissioning of an Industrial Wastewater
Treatment Plant for a factory that produces animal food in the north of Portugal.
The WWTP comprises of a rotary screen for the removal of macroscopic solids, followed by a model SIGMA ACAF-20 oil and grease separator.
The outgoing water is accumulated in a homogenizer in order to equalize the polluting loads and the inlet flow after the SIGMA DAF-FPAC20 flotation equipment, which manages to eliminate up to 95% of the solids present in the water. Finally, two SBR equipment working in parallel manage to oxidize the organic matter to adequate values for its discharge to the sewerage.
In this video we can see that the flocculation of the water, before its flotation using the DAF-FPAC20 equipment, has been a total success. It should be noted that the flotation is part of an intermediate stage in the purification process and that it is possible to eliminate 80% of the organic materials present in waters with concentrations that can reach up to 60,000 ppm of COD.
