Legal Eagle flight aborted due to heavy fog! I am forced to turn back to base.

So great to see another Eagle flying. I've loved my time flown in my LE-XL. I've experienced a few close encounters with fog over the years.

I notice that his upper seat belt harness is attached to the mid point of a tube that goes up to the rear wing attachment cluster. The wall thickness of that tube is probably ont 0.035 inches. With the harness attached at that point, in the event of a frontal impact of the aircraft, that tube will fail and allow the pilot's face and upper body to move forward and impact other parts of the aircraft. The result will not be good. He should relocate the upper harness attachment point to the tubing cluster located at the bottom of the tube he presently has the upper harness attached to. - a Mechanical engineer

I'm not a mechanical engineer but I agree something fundamental was overlooked in the design of the shoulder strap anchors and I can't think of a worse solution than what was implemented in fact a parachute might be a better idea. But I don't see how it would be possible to reverse engineer the anchor without redesigning the rear fuselage. Plus without exact information we can only guess the centre of gravity, I guess adding weight aft of the pilot would be detrimental to the flying characteristics.

If the harness is mounted lower than your shoulders it will damage your spine in an impact
