That’s not accurate, Dorian registered as he always has under Team Olivarez for trials and for all the ADCC opens and wrestling tournaments etc… Dorian has trained mostly in our garage in Houston for the last twelve years with a core group of wrestlers and grapplers from our area. He crossed trained specifically for East Coast Trials at Gracie Barra Westchase, Dream Art Houston and Standard Jiujitsu in Maryland and also Bteam. I think there’s some confusion because people have seen him on Bteam KZbin channel and then they just assume he’s at Bteam full time. Bteam has been a tremendous influence on his development and we are very grateful to them for the training but he visits for a couple days at a time periodically when out of wrestling season in the summers since the summer 2022. For reference Dorian started his training in 2011.

Am I the only one thinking that it's weird that Dominic Mejia was his competitor under New Wave in the 66kg division, and now John's taken up Dorian instead since he won trials and was (I'm assuming) approached by them? Like if he's still under Team Olivarez and is just a wondering Ronin type, whatever, but it makes it seem like John really does play favorites with his athletes based on who wins what.

Dorian reached out and asked to train with us. We don't ask anyone to train with us. If they want to join, we see if it's a good fit or not.
