Lamb curry made with round bone chops is my favorite curry. Rich with a tomato and onion gravy that’s been cooked down until it’s really thick. And butter chicken!

This looks delicious 😋 You're not the only one freaked out by releasing the pressure on your Instant Pot. I use a wooden spoon when I release the pressure on mine and, to this day, I still almost hit the ceiling in the kitchen every time 😂

I always thought of Rendang as more of a stew than a curry. I don't know why, it's basically the same I guess.🙂 I know Rendang as an Indonesian dish (from Sumatra I believe) and I love it! Of course Malaysia is just a few miles away 🙂
@norhadzirahramli74Ай бұрын
Yes, I guess rendang is a kind of stew, not so much of a curry. Curry is like chicken , fish or beef curry. Many examples Out there

Rendang, Indonesia is voted the world's best food (CNN). Of course Malaysia and Indonesia share a lot of similar cuisines and I believe both taste quite similar and super delicious. ❤ Thank you for making this recipe, will try it soon!

Beef finger meat is the meat from between the ribs, so basically the trimmings from a tomahawk steak, or from the removed bones from a rib roast (bone-in ribeye roast, bone-in prime rib).

This dish sounds so good. I haven't found kaffir leaves in our area. I see them on line & really want to try them. I still giggle when the instant pot makes you jump. I will look for the curry you bought. Wish they sold finger meat in our local stores. Will look next time I'm in one of the Asian markets.

Thank you for sharing this! I love beef rendang. Usually, I have it at restaurants, but I did make it at home once using that same Teams Gourmet paste. I started on stovetop and then transferred to my slow cooker. It was very spicy, in fact, a little too spicy! 😂 I used regular beef stew meat. Your method of removing the chili oil is a great idea - something I hadn't thought of. I have beef short ribs in the freezer plus I recently bought my first electric pressure cooker - will definitely make it again using your recipe.

Your like one of the few youtuber chefs ive seen use these Malaysian curry pastes packages. everyone else uses home made and ive been searching for years for a recipe like this that uses those malaysian brand pastes. It freakin used to irritate me 😂 because i couldnt find every ingredient on the list in regards to making the curry paste like for example candle nut. Even i live next to a few asian markets in my area dont even know what candle nut is. Used to make me sad 😢. But im happy i found your recipe i will try making it soon. Maybe fpe the holiday's 😊.
@FloLum2 ай бұрын
Right?! I remember trying to find candlenuts way back when I was making the pastes from scratch too and they were SO hard to find. A good sub is macadamia nut. But premade pastes are way better! Enjoy!

Thanks for the great video sharing how to cook Rendang in a pressure cooker. I’m watching from the home of Rendang in Malaysia. Just a question, did you use dessicated coconut? I can get kerisik here but I’m wondering if dessicated coconut can be used as a replacement? Thanks.

Instead of deglazing with water, can the same amount of beef stock be used in order to preserve the beef flavor?

You definitely could but you really don’t have to. The flavours are so intense that I don’t think you’d be able to tell the difference.

From the Netherlands: Rendang is NOT A CURRY! Forget paste and make it with fresh ingredients instead. Your rendang will be much more tasty. You said that you use the lemongrass ONLY for that taste. What else would you use it for? I am sorry but you do not convince!

@RatdogDRB2 ай бұрын
Sorry, for me, curry is one of those things you eat because it was put before you and out of respect for the cook's efforts you complement their efforts. I don't ever "get hungry for" curry. God bless you folks in your efforts. Although, if given the choice I'll take red curry over green/yellow any day of the week. And, NEVER ruin a good crab with curry.

Aw… that’s so sad! I’m convinced that you haven’t tried a good curry yet. There are so many versions and so different in each culture. There are curries that I am not a fan of either.
