Flood Damaged Road Repair Continues in Tennessee

Work Continues on 421 S between Mountain City TN and Boone NC.
BCS is on the ground every day building back the roads from their flood damaged state.
Just a week and a half ago, Hurricane Helene swept through our area and devastated roads, cities, homes, and lives.
BCS is a seasoned road builder with more than 30 years of experience, and we were more than happy to do our part in the rebuilding effort.
TDOT and NCDOT, BCS, and many other contractors from this area have gladly stepped up since September 28th.
Since that first week, BCS has been a part of opening up 421 S, which has allowed emergency and rescue personnel access to families trapped and isolated from Helene.
We are not a rescue organization, or first responders, but we proudly put our experience to use in this massive effort to rebuild NC and TN.

@@Gollum-sn6bf Especially along the Nolichucky River which took out five (5) bridges in Washington County, as well as I-26 bridge in Unicoi County. Gonna take a long while before we get back to normal. RIP folks who died. :(

The problem is you need fines to help lock the rip rap in place but yes the river can also wash out the fines.

I'm actually loading 12"-36" rip rap with a front end loader in dump trucks ( I feel sorry for the drivers ) and I think it's for the railroad, they are using the big ones and then working crusher run over it to lock them in place. I have lived here since 2012 and they are not lying about " MOUNTAIN STRONG " the way they are here is like when I was growing up and I love it here!!

I traveled this road daily for years. I am so glad to see repairing. My grandbabies are in Damascus. The destruction of beauty is devastating 😢💙
