Flooded Complex (Area 5, Distribution Center) - AM2R Soundtrack

I love AM2R so much. The Distribution Center is probably my favorite segment in the game. There are so many buildings and things left around by the Chozo, with little sockets for the power cells that the player has yet to learn about. Coming in and seeing the destroyed Distribution Center feels like another big mystery that the player needs to solve. All the broken areas, flooded pipes, and robots are a great buildup to that moment when you turn the facility back on. Through the tutorials on how to use the new power cells, everything clicks. It's not just different areas spliced together by interstitial caverns. The world becomes very real. With Screw Attack and Gravity Suit just around the corner, a huge power trip is coming in the player's direction as well. Everything is brought together so well by this track and Ancient Power, with the transition between the two being immaculate. If you ever read this, you guys did amazing work with the game. You absolutely lived up to and far surpassed the standards of Metroid series. Thank you so much.

Recently started a marathon of every Metroidvania that I love, in release order. After cataloging all of them, I kept eyeing AM2R... anticipating a replay of the gameplay, the music, the total feel of it all. Is it so strange that one of my favorite Metroid games is an unofficial one?

It's not really shelved, fans are still updating the game and releasing it now. And Dr Mario or whatnot has also bee hired but he guys who make Ori and the Blind Forest/Will of the whisps so some good game out of this game. I honestly see it as the true M2 remake, Samus Returns was ok but it's not as special as AM2R imo.
