My heart goes out to all affected by the flooding, but it begs the question of how building permits were issued knowing full well that all the affected areas were on flood plain. Greed is the only answer!

pffft. People have been building in flood plains for thousands of years. Hundreds of thousands, probably.
@quadbc4059
@quadbc4059 3 жыл бұрын
@@freedapeeple4049 Yes that is true in the past, but you'd think that they'd ask "is this property prone to flooding?" In modern times as land is less available we build in area's that are flood prone, one cannot build in an area if building permits are not issued but as towns grow they need to utilize the land in order to gain more tax revenue...so permits are approved.

Yes it’s quite unbelievable…I’m sure experts knew this was only a matter of time considering that whole area used to be a lake. Each governing party elected just kept passing the “solution projects” for the next political party to pay for. It’s also why Lower mainland ans Fraser Valley has the worst traffic infrastructure .

Nope they won't and when something happens me and you will foot the bill. I'd like Alberta to put their money where their mouths are.
