When John was in the hole for the riser by the copper-dam, it really gave us a perspective of how deep it was. No wonder the riser is 12ft 4in. I can't recall you ever placing a riser that tall.

I am so jealous, sitting in an office all day whilst you get to play in the mud! Any project I work on takes years to complete and I often never see the final result. Here you can sit back at the end of the day and admire the amount of work you've completed. Thank you for sharing that with us!!

Nothing like those TN/NC late March rain storms (sudden cold heavy rain for 15 minutes every 3-4 hours). Such fine work on than dam rebuild in those conditions. As you said "not your first rodeo" - mesmerizing to watch. Thanks for a nice Sunday afternoon in the mud!

To begin with, the struggle with the skid steer is a testament to your excellent compaction skills. second, I think the different color dirt was probably what they used when the original discharge pipe was replace. keep up the good work!

Can't even get away from the mud. Mud with John, mud here! At least there is less mud at 10 acre pond dam then at the 5-10 acres of mud you're sweeping up with John. Love how you power thru this stuff. Great work ethic!

All the years I have been following this channel, and I can't remember you ever needed to pile dirt in front of the tracks to stop the machine sliding. Looking at the size of the bucket full you tipped out @ 6:00 that would have taken some force to dig out of the dam. Especially after it had been packed so well with Justin's roller.

The clay packed very well hard as a brick. That's what you need for a good solid dam. I have a pond I wish you could fix. It's full of silt and top of dam is maybe 5 feet wide. It's 30 or 40 feet tall on back side and over grown with pines. It was dug with a d8 and they hit a spring in the bottom and stuck the dozer. It's close to 80 or maybe 100 years old. I was told it was originally 15 feet deep or more and has never gone dry. It's only about 6 or 7 feet now. It's in a valley and banks are very steep. I think it would test your skill for sure. Arkansas is a long way from home. Great work as always.

Chris, between this job and the other 'pond job' you're working, we should change your moniker to, "Mud Logger 18." Whew! I don't envy your job, and at the same time cannot help but wonder... who else could do what you're doing?! I can't help but marvel at the job your doing. I can only hope - the next time I climb into my nephews 057-4, I can recall some of the tricks I've seen you pull off! Thank you, buddy..............

Great transformation of the pond. Thanks for explaining things as you go. It makes things easier to understand, I have learned a lot since watching your channel. One question is what is the best small scale piece of equipment is best for starting out? My dilemma is skid steer, mini excavator, or just a larger tractor with backhoe?
