Is it ok to glue the seams for extra strength even if there ok.

I am doing the same boat but a bit older. My Keel has small leakage on the seam where its joined together. I know its a welded seam. What do you recommend to fix it? I was thinking about a long patch down the whole seam. or is there a way to separate it and fix it? Yours was clean compared to what i am dealing with Lol they used 5200 and Sika flex to fix the floor and the transom in. Lol I love your videos and have learned so much and lost my fear. Thank you . Also when you put the transom in it looks like you are able to maneuver and separate until you get it where you want. When I do mine the min they touch they are not coming apart. Are you leaving the last coat a bit wet so you have wiggle room?

Thank you for watching. The keel on this boat was replaced with a new one as the old one was to badly damaged and was cheaper to just replace. But I would do a strip patch along the seam if that's where yours is leaking from. This one was far from clean when it came to its repairs. This boat had all the same stuff you mentioned and more that was used to hold the boat together. Customer was a little upset that the price was more then others, but that's all due to the amount of time it needed to put the boat back together and removethe improper glues and epoxythey used. When installing the transom we do it in sections. I try to get the glue to the curing point just before it flashes before installing the transom. Yes, the glue will be partially wet to allow for adjustments. About 3-5 mins before flash time is sufficient to allow adjustments. You are right, once it touches it can be hard to pull apart. In situations like that, I'll pull out the heat gun to soften the glue and allow me to adjust what is needed. I would've put that in a video, but since it's a time sensitive matter and I don't have any camera workers here, hard to set the camera and have everything ready when situations like that arise. And because I've been doing this for such a long period of time, those situations come far few in between. Lol

What Silicone did you use? What do you use to wash them and UV protect them?

Used 3m 4200 fast cure for sealant, a combination of multiple cleaners for cleaning such as Captain PHAB Inflatable boat cleaner, Palmolive dish soap etc... and 303 aerospace for protection.

What material do you use for the patching and transom replacement I see two different thicknesses available. Where do you get you material from?

Material used on this boat was Quicksilver PVC fabric. The thicker stuff. We sell it at our shop or can be purchased from any other inflatable boat shop. Would've used Zodiac fabric but it was backordered at the time.
