HELP - I am trying to find electric actuators instead of using hand crank jacks for the camper legs so it can slide on and off quicker. I think this would be easier to operate by myself also. Any suggestions on how I could make this idea work?

Place one on each corner of the camper body with some frame work (legs) say, 300mm+ from the ground (to allow ground clearance whilst traveling) and attach an actuator to each of the four corners with a reach (stroke) > than the ground clearance. The actuators would need to be of appropriate spec for the weight of the camper. Once the camper is raised off the trucks tray, move the truck forward, then lower the actuators so the camper is resting on the four frame extension legs to which the actuators are mounted. This would take the pressure off the actuators whilst the camper is being stored.

@philjohnston007 Thanks Phil. That's a great way to do it. Taking the weight off the actuators is also very smart, so the load isn't putting too much pressure on them whilst it's stored.

Electric trailer tongue jacks are cheap and strong. I've always thought about wiring 4 together for unified control up and down. If they're in the way, you could put them on swivel mounts or quick releases when not in use.

@@BootUpwithBaysharp Thanks so much for your comment. I ended up buying 4 electric linear actuators, which I have been welding brackets for. I have yet to wire them together to make them work at once, but fingers crossed I can figure it out. I needed the legs to take the camper down to the ground, so I can slide it under my garage door for easy storing. Next video is half filmed ready to go, I just need them to work together now! Thanks for watching!
Well done Tam! It's coming along beautifully and you're doing an amazing job! Well done too Trent 😂. Always remeber this: "If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks, it was meant to be replaced anyway." 😂😂😂
@user-rq4ek4hj9y Thank you. Yes I hope it will help as we can have very hot summers.

Coming along great. How does the aluminium frame fasten to the truck?
@CosyCottageCamper3 ай бұрын
@interested_in_things Thank you! I used the original tray sides mounting brackets to then fasten new aluminium brackets into the same holes being held with bolts. I will show in a future video 😊

Question: How many gears does the suzuki carry 2020 have? 3,4,5? Beautiful building. It looks much more spacious than 2x1.48m. Beautiful work!
@CosyCottageCamper3 ай бұрын
Hi Jonathan, thanks for watching and your kind comment! The Suzuki is a 3 speed Auto. The 2024 models have 4 gears so in the future I may upgrade the Suzuki to a 4WD with 4 gears. Will see how my 2020 version travels in the meantime.

Thanks for watching. I am not sure; I will need to check the springs. Thanks for the suggestion to add another accessory spring to counter the weight load. That will be very handy indeed! 🙂
@@つよしみき Oh right. That was good thinking and would definitely help! I am trying to use lightweight materials; however I know it will soon all add up in weight. そうそう。それは良い考えであり、間違いなく役立ちます!軽量の素材を使用しようとしています。しかし、すぐにすべての重量が重くなることはわかっています。
