Compulsories have much better composition that elite optional routines. Men's floor used to have variety, balance skills, flexibility and artistic elements. Now men's optional floor routines (elite) are not interesting at all to watch. Just fast and furious with tons of connected twisting skills. Many omit skills that have been the cornerstone of tumbling such as flic flacs solely because of points. 80's and 90's had great composition and variety. I'd rather watch a well-done compulsory routine with good composition than what we see today from elite gymnastics. Men's floor needs to be totally changed. Go back to when it was amazing.
