This is the most emotional version of "Shallow" I've heard so far, I always get a lump in my throat when I hear it. But it's hard for me to choose my favorite song from what Floor sang in this TV show, ALL her interpretations were out of the ordinary. You've listened to 3 so far - can you pick just one? Emma Heesters makes covers that she publishes on her YT channel, gaining a large national and international audience. She has a pleasant, sweet voice. In the Beste Zangers show she presented herself very well, and in the episode dedicated to Floor she sang "Strong", a song composed by Floor for her mother, from the After Forever repertoire - an emotional cover, especially for Floor.

Beste Zangers 2019 season was actually the best season ever of this show. There has never been a better set of singers, and it helped too that Floor set the bar so high, and that right with the season opener which you reacted to already, that was Vilja Lied. It is German, from the operetta Die Lustige Witwe, The Merry Widow, and it is pronounced Vheel-ya Lead - as in to lead. All of the songs Floor performed are on my playlist, plus a couple of other ones from this season. Thank you for your great, emotional, personal reactions. I really love it! In the very few years of listening to YT...Floor is in a league of her own!!! The first time I heard Floor sing "Shallow".... I was blown away!!! I had tears running down my cheek, mainly because she, Floor, sang the song perfectly! And if Floor is bringing tears down my cheek, well...this 6'6" old Offensive Lineman is really impressed and happy all at the same time! I'm 65 years young and there has been only one other female vocalist that has ever made me cry, and that was Karen Carpenter. .

This performance is a masterclass in vocal flavor. The way Floor sculpts every single note into subtly nuanced sounds and weaves them together so coherently is beyond amazing. Well done. I'm glad that you are working through all of Floor's performances on Beste Zangers as they are are all excellent. Don't miss her performance two years later when she had just had her gall bladder removed and was in lockdown. They did a Beste Zangers special with selected singers performing old songs from the Eurovision Song Contest. FYI: The whole idea of the TV Show ‘Best Singers’ is bringing together vocalists from different genres and have them to sing each others songs… This year Floor Jansen was asked to participate in the german version of the same show, called ‘Sing meinen Song’.

5:23 I don't know her career, but from this show I gather she is a KZbinr, popular in her country, who sings covers. That's why Floor in her honor, also sang a cover. The last episode they sang duets. My favorite one was of course Floor with Hank singing The Phantom of the Opera, but Imma (I think that is her name) also sang a duet with Hank and she impressed me singing toe-to-toe on power and intensity with Henk, while Tim, who made the other duet with Floor, jus could not keep up and his voice is completely lost when they sang together. By the way, I love how Floor has such mastery of her craft, that she decided to sing Shallow with a sentimental tone, and by the end there was not a dry eye in the room. And it is not even a sad song!!! She just decided to sing it with feelings and every one was teary eyed!

As has been mentioned please do react to Emma’s version of Floor’s song Strong, which Floor wrote for her mother. Warning though, it would be a multiple tissue box reaction. Highly therapeutic though. Everyone needs a good cry from time to time, and this is a ‘happy’ cry. PS I emailed the ask question queens mailbox and sent you the link to the Sing Meinen Song episode that got deleted from a comment the other day. Hope you got it. I don’t think you’ll be able to react to it though, for the same reason, but if you do watch it I am sure you’ll like it. Let me know if you need it again. I think the wiggle is called portamento in singing. And indeed, Floor is a master of that technique. You can hear a few too in the second verse of the Phantom. Another Floor video to add to your list. Floor was doing an Instagram livestream during the quarantine lockdown. Someone asked if she had the opportunity to work with one musician dead or alive who would it be. She immediately said Freddie Mercury. That duet is obviously not going to be possible... or is it. Hello there :) I subscribed after your Winner Reaction and love that you got the full episode. I hope you used Denise Hoff, she was the first one i saw that made the whole episodes of Beste Zangers so I could read them and instead of hiring her, they blocked a lot of her stuff and she had to host it on another site, but she used her videos to link to that site so we could still see AND understand :) My personal favorite from the series was her cover of for Rolf Sanchez :) I still show it to all the hispanic people I work with :)
