Hello Nathan and Natalie. Beste Zangers (Best Singers in Dutch) was a TV show last year. Floor is almost unknown in her own country and this programme has helped gain her long-overdue recognition. It is not a competition as such, but they each sing songs that mean something special to each other. Emma is a KZbin sensation (in the red) and Floor has covered this song for her. The older gentleman is Henk Poort who sang the part of The Phantom in 'Phantom of The Opera' in Amsterdam. He reprises that song with Floor in a subsequent episode, and they got on so famously, that Henk joined her on her recent solo tour back in February. I enjoyed your own voice Natalie, and you can do worse than use Floor as a muse. Well done guys. Kev from the UK.

Beste Zangers is neither a competition or a chat show. It is a unique format where several singers from different musical genres get together for a couple of weeks at a resort (Ibiza I believe) and each episode, one of the singers is "on the couch" while each of the others sings a song for them - usually a cover of one of their songs or a song that has special meaning for them. At the end of the episode, the one on the couch picks which singer moved them the most, but there is no prize. So, the "best" performance is not always the best technically but rather the one that meant the most. In this episode, Floor sings for Emma Heesters - the young blonde woman who is a Dutch KZbin singer who does mostly covers. So, Floor did a "cover of a cover" by singing Shallow which I believe Emma sang on her channel and is a favorite of hers. All the performers are Dutch. The ironic part is that Floor was relatively unknown in her own country where Metal is not very popular. All that changed with this show - she has become quite well known there now. Among the other singers is Henk Poort (the older gentleman watching the performance) who is a well known Dutch Opera/Musical Theater singer - he performed as the Phantom in the Dutch production of Phantom of the Opera. The last show of the Season is where the singers will perform duets with each other. Floor had been a huge fan of Henk's since she was a little girl and saw him perform in the Phantom. She asked him to sing that famous duet from the show and he agreed - the result was amazing! Actually all of Floor's performances from this show are awesome as well as several performances by the other singers. I believe there are videos with subtitles available on KZbin - it really helps to hear what they are saying before and after each performance. Enjoy!!

Hi. You should checkout her singing a cover of Let it go and a cover of Alone by Heart. Heart is a Rock band started in 1974 and still going. You might of heard of them . Your daughter is amazing and I also recommend watching Floor doing a Masterclass.

"beste Zangers"( best singers) is a dutch program. every episode there is a "spotlight artist". this time the girl in red. the other artists perform a song from her repetoire or from her past that had some special meaning for her. every episode another spotlight artist. it's no competition. more a tribute. in the whole season you can see Floor singing in different languages and styles. from Dutch to spanish. also perform "Phantom of the opera.

Floor was somewhat of a nerd in regards to studying the vocal mechanism, and was a vocal teacher and coach for nearly 15 years. So she knows a thing or two about singing, and started a 2-weekly masterclass series with tips, tricks, techniques and singing styles on her channel. That might be something for Natalie to look into.

Not a competion. 7 (very different) Dutch singers. Every week 1 is on the hotseat and the others singing a song that means something to this person or a own song of the hotseat member. Floor is singing this for Emma (lady in red) who is a You Tuber and coverd this song for her chanel. See it as celabration of music, and the fun of making and sharing it.

Although it may look like, this is not a competition but more a tribute to each other by singing songs from the other in the hot seat. In this context the Dutch sentence ‘Beste Zangers’ doesn’t mean ‘best’ singers but ‘dear’ singers. Beside I’m looking forward to see more Nightwish songs, it would be greatly see more ‘Beste Zangers 2019’ performances by Floor. I would suggest to watch ‘Winner’ and ‘About Love I Don’t Know A Thing’ or ‘Vilja Lied’ and ‘Qué Sé Siente’

Tbat teacher should be fired on the spot. Yes, when you use your voice wrong you will ruin it. But grit and even growling can be sung in an healthy way. You should switch to a different teacher, one who at least has some inkling about what is healthy and not those idiots with only golden name shield as proof.
