Woman power!!! I am a 62 year old mother of three and lost my job at the hospital. Luckily, I save enough money to build a small house that I could rent it out for Airbnb. My contractor did not show up for a month to finish his work in my small house and I was desperate to have the small house rented out so I installed the laminate floors myself. I watched other youtube videos and I wished I watched this channel first before I did the installation...I should have bought all those tools that you used. Now, I have to watch your channel how to trim windows! Keep up the good work! BTW, I love the way you screwed the board and unscrew it to remove the gap on the board. What a great tip! Also, the drone is cool, too...Thank you so much!!!

I binge watched this channel when my house was being built last summer and we moved in April 2024 and I gathered a lot of information from Studpack and I was able to ask intelligent questions to my builder from learning what you men have taught. I really paid attention to Paul when he would give the tips and the "must have's." Thanks guys.

In the "big freeze of 2021, a pipe in my house burst, and I had two bedrooms and a hallway flooded. As odd as this sounds, we were lucky to have just gotten back to the house. I hollered at my wife to fill up the bathtubs (pro-tip - if you have water you can both drink it as needed, but also fill up the tanks in the toilet and flush it!) In the end, my wife insisted, wisely, that we not replace the carpet with more carpet, but rather the laminate flooring as you have done. It took me a few tries to figure out "straight" cuts through a hallway at 23 1/2 degrees to two doorways into bedrooms, but paper templates ended up saving the day!

@22:40 watched a lot of Stud Pack videos and this is the first time I've seen something I wasn't aware of and it is perfect. Just a simply product that does a great job if you run into this situation and are someone who cares about quality of the finish work (though most contractors I've engaged with would just leave it and caulk the hell out of it). Ideally of course you test fit the pieces first but things happen and this is a great solution.

17:30 I always check that (parallelism) between all walls, and make any needed adjustments (splitting the difference) at the start. That and what you did when you checked wall opposite start wall (to eliminate any "slivers"). Not sure if you also checked the other 2 "mini walls" and stairwell for this but that should also be done...basically, anywhere your widths are terminating. If not, you could definitely run into some problems/slivers :-(. Great work boys!

A couple of tips they failed to mention - cutting this stuff requires a saw blade with at least 60 teeth and it will wear out pretty fast. I help my son-in-law do his upstairs and down stairs. We went through a couple of blades. Also, when you have to reverse direction inside a different room or around an island, you need to be skilled a linking the planks together in both directions. If you don’t have a fancy tapping tool, use a short piece of a waste cutoff, slide it over the tongue of the board to be set, and hit it with a hammer or mallet. You will need the other tool used to pull the planks together and the one they show looks great - the cheap ones last a while but you have to keep bending them back in shape. Check your square with the far wall after placing four or five rows - you can still adjust the whole piece with a pry bar. Not too hard but these guys make it look easy.
