This was a very helpful video, thanks! If you are planning to make more content like this, it would be wonderful, since it's hard to find specific examples on how to expand and modify different games and activities and to adapt to every child's preference or developmental level.

What to do when the child is too much absorbed in his own world/ play and reacts very angry, even the interruption is playful, not intrusive?
@therapywithdrprabhjot22 күн бұрын
Hello Usually when a child is not comfortable with the parent using their play material, use separate toys or objects and try to imitate the child's action, so they know you are not interrupting but want to join in their play. Let the child initiate using your play material or observing yoy before adding elements of playful obstruction.

can you show how to play with hyperactive autism kids.. they love to object play but when you try to follow/challenge they would run to another place in the room… its almost impossible for ADHD.. is it because i have too much toy in the room or too big? or could have done something before that to entice them better?
@therapywithdrprabhjot Жыл бұрын
Hello The setting, surroundings, number of people in the room, child facing the speaker without getting distracted by windows, toys, screen etc are various factors that affect how compliant the child will be during interactive play.

@@therapywithdrprabhjot ok thanks 😭.. this would be difficult because treatment room is shared😔😭…

If possible, a curtain like separation can help to some extent and reduce distraction.

Great ideas, please do you have any tips to work with a child that is constantly pinching, biting and playing with his saliva. Ty 🙏
@therapywithdrprabhjot2 жыл бұрын
Hello The pinching and biting is either a pressure based sensation or a behaviour issue when child is angry or irritable. I would recommend using sensory calming activities like as light music, a chewable item, a fidge toy like pop it for reducing anxiety. As for play with saliva, playing games using water spitting, bubble blowing, drinking water to give less opportunity to play with saliva work well.

Mam,my son is 13 and he wants to pick and drop small objects like dominos,pulses or water (or a single object like remote,candle etc whether they make sound or not) continuosly till I distract him, is it kind of sensory seeking behaviour or just something he does when there is no task/ activity to perform? Please guide me
@therapywithdrprabhjot2 жыл бұрын
If it is a continuous behaviour without need for sounds and stops with distraction, it could be Visual seeking for dropping, repetitive behaviour for anxiety or a way to show he is bored. If there is no other sensory problem so far, then he has turned his boredom into a habit which happens children can't find a hobby. Try to find his interest as in sports, art, music, board games.
