Flora Purim's Last Show - Struck by Lightning

This is Flora Purim's last show of her career. It took place in São Paulo, Brazil, in February of 2022 and counted with the Special Participation of her husband, percussionist Airto Moreira. Due to health reasons, this was also Airto's last performance for a live audience.
The band consisted of Frank Colón on percussion, Cuca Teixeira on drums, Fabio Leandro on keyboards, Jota P on Sax, and Marquinhos Noronha on bass.

Flora and Airto; they were probably my first experience listening to Brazilian jazz back in the late 70s. I was into salsa and disco/ funk. But this and Grover Washington opened my musical horizons. Yes, we all get old!

Wow. This hitting Me Hard Man, I've been hearing These 2 since I was 12. And I'm 61 now. I rember when Flora won Downbeat's best Vocalist while She was In The Joint.

I hear you, man! We've been close friends, and I've been touring with them since the 70s. It saddens me deeply to see how they are right now. 😢
