When should you use FLORA and when should you use GEMMA? Funny you should ask, we made a video to answer exactly that question: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHi5c4Vqd9x8htU #WearableWednesday #WearableTech #Wearable #FLORA #GEMMA

I just want a tiny LED to put in a necklace pendant that has an on/off and setting switch, that is rechargable via micro USB. Is the gemma ideal or is there something else more ideal?

Hello, I am building a miniature model of time machine from the movie based on HG Wells book. For the flywheel I wanted to use the LED Artist R48 and a PIR motion sensor. Can this be done with a Gemma?

So, if I want two different zones of animation that something delegated within the code or would I need separate boards? If I can use 1 I'd go with the FLORA and Gemma if I needed 2 separate. Thank you 😊

although you have mentioned flora is better for a GPS project, is it possible to use gemma? i am working on developing a minimal wearable product so the size of gemma seems ideal. and would it be possible to incorporate a bluetooth module to gemma? if not then is there an additional component i could attach to make the bluetooth connection, yet still be able to maintain a minimal appearance? or would it be bulky? thanks in advance!

Hey Adafruit! I don't know what board to use for my locker project. This year I am going to put a bunch of cool LEDs and such inside my locker and will be turned on by opening my locker. Which board such I use?
@deldarel9 жыл бұрын
+TheLittle NerdThatCould if it's just leds, you basically never have to look further than the GEMMA, however, I think your project can also very much work without any board. Place a press switch that's placed behind the door so that it is pressed when the door presses against it. This closes the circuit and turns the LEDs on. If you wanna make variable colours with RGB LEDs, then GEMMA is still the way to go.

Re-posting on this video in hopes of assistance. Thanks and sorry for the repetition. I love your ideas and suggestions. I've been making my costumes light up for year, but after finding you I my hobby might be expanding. I have a couple questions I could use some help with if you could. I apologize to place them in a comments inosection (I couldn't find a good contact on your site to ask). I'm wanting to light up my costumes for Halloween, and since I only just found about you and your products I'm not quite up to speed on what I need and fear that if I had to start from scratch alone that I wouldn't make it in time. :( That being said... I'm looking at your Neopixels, individually and in the strips to light my costumes. My hang up is what to run them with. From what I can tell they can be run by the Gemma, Flora, or the Arduino, though I don't know the difference and such. I don't know which I need. I would like the lights to be able to do some effects and go together possibly react to sound. I'm unsure till I receive it exactly how much I'll use, but best guess is 1-4 meters, in either 2-4 different segments on my costume. If you could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it, along with any best recommendations on how to power it. I'm also wanting to do the light up martices boards for eyes on a costume accessory with a sound driver to make a light inside give the appearance of speaking, or as alternative to the eyes use alternating sections of el wire to give the appearance of blinking. I appreciate any help, apologize for asking so much. Thanks in advance and I love your stuff and wishing I was in NY to jsut come and peruse in person.

Hey, I want to do a cosplay and use the Adafruit NeoPixel Digital RGB LED Strip 144 LED. I will need to use a LOT of LEDs, so maybe 2 of those strips. So I need to be able to power everything and control the color and animations with buttons or a pressure sensor in my hand (or both). Also its my first time using arduino altough I've seen a LOT of tutorials already. is the flora good enough for this? or should I use something like LEO? and how to power 2 strips of LEDs? thank you for any help, since I have only 2 months to make everything from zero.
