Back from MT (back to internet, yay?) and discovered this! Props to Sarah for helping me feel a bit more comfortable doing the tasting. Sadly this is the only reminder of the Tripel that remains. This recipe is spectacular...a must do for Belgian fans, you’ll have a smirk on your face the day you realize you have nearly 5 gallons of this in your own home, and your own home is probably a wise place to enjoy this. Thanks Sarah!

Just finished this the Tripel recipe and i have to say, although it doesn't taste like your tasting describes, I am very happy with it. It was rough going along the way, but it turned out well. Thank you!!

Did you ferment for two weeks as well? Does it need more hops? She said there was little hop taste.

Nice Video. I am currently fermenting a Belgian Chocolate stout with Lallemand Abbaye (the Belgian part of the recipe). Definitely getting the Banana and pear scent coming off on day 3. I was initially going s-33 but wanted it a little more attenuate. Planning to repitch the yeast on a Russian Imperial Stout for long term aging. Beer burnout is definitely a thing I like to rotate beers a lot in an attempt to keep it interesting. From memory legs is from the viscosity of the alcohol.

How close is your tripel to La Fin Du Monde? My home brewery will be finished mid July and I have to brew a Belgian similar for my wife.
@FloraBrewing4 жыл бұрын
I would say it's less herbaceous than La Fin but I LOVE that beer and it's not a distant cousin. The yeast is less pronounced in this tripel but if you fermented a little hotter say 72ºF it would probably get more esters that would bring it close.

Appart from, "it's good" I have never been able to describe beers. I only know that I do not like the orange flavour of some Craft beers I have tasted and not finished. Belgium beer is equal favourite of mine alongside Bass, as it used to be and which I brew a version of often. I enjoyed the video of your double brew day but it does not seem that long ago. Perhaps time flies. If that beer you are sampling now is young then it will get even better. If you can leave it??? :-D :-D Had you been rehersing the tasting prior to the video. You seem to have been enjoying yourself. :-)
@FloraBrewing4 жыл бұрын
It usually takes me a week or two to edit a full brew day so the reviews come out pretty soon after :) We were sampling the Belgian Pale we brewed the day right before...that review is coming soon but we split the batch and dry hopped half of it to do a comparison!
