As a new fan of dirt racing. But a motorsports fan my whole life. To me dirt racin lapped cars seem to be the hardest to pass. It seems they can catch them so easily. But once they are to them, they can't get pasted...

Welcome to the best racing on the planet! Lapped cars what can make it interesting. Lapped cars get passed all the time what matters is when and where you catch them and pass them. Dirt racing especially jn the features races when track is packed down its all about momentum.

What most people seem to forget is the alot of times the lap cars are running close to the same lap times as the leaders by time they get to them they just got held up by the field sorting itself out and that is where they lost the time that made it to where the leaders caught up to them ( think of it this way the leaders can be wide open from lap 1 where cars further back just have to cruise 1/2 -3/4 throttle until everyone is sorted out and track is clear enough to race without piling half the field up(leaders are on a open road and at the back there in rush hour traffic))

If he were with a different team that didn't have the same type of support the results would be alot different.

You’d be surprised how easy it is to wipe the front clip out on a dirt racecar i’ve seen cars that didn’t look that bad have to have a entire new front clip put on it (every bar forward of the firewall/transmission replaced )
