Hello, I was watching a flower wrapping video. As my love for flowers have grown and the thought to try out creating my own bouquets for those I love. Especially to have cool ways to wrap them as stores tend to just do the simple wrapping. Today, as I was watching a wrapping video. I got this spark to own a flower business. Creating bouquets for people and selling. The excitement and joy at the light planning I have. Even a name and slogan in the works! Went on tiktok to start my research on those having businesses and how they've started. First video I watched, the lady recommended your channel. In response to knowing how to price. Loved your video thank you for sharing your knowledge. My question is with the use of the chicken wire how would you instruct the customer to care for the arrangement over the next week or so. Are they still advised to trim the stems? Thanks so much.

Excellent question! I would advise them to change the water daily. Because the flowers are “locked in” the chicken wire, it would be too challenging to have to pull out every stem. I hope this helps

Hi Alexxis, this was a beautiful video I have learned so much! I do have a question. How do you know what flowers are in season? Do you do lots of research and just learn as you go? I wanted to learn how to make flowers arrangements but if a flower isn't in season I want to be able to let them know right away instead of not knowing or forgetting to tell them.

Hi there! Honestly over time working at a flower shop I just learned what’s in season. I came out with a flower identification book that tells you how to pronounce the flower, it gives you the time of year they are in season in as well as what pairs well with each flower. I don’t really think it’s all the way necessary 🤫 as long as your water and vase/ bucket is clean your flowers will be fine

I have a question about the chicken wire. The chicken wire has the pros of helping to figure out the structure of a design, it isn't bad for the customer's health, and it doesn't get everywhere. But one of the reasons foam is used (if I remember correctly from class) is that it helps keep water in for the plants. So would it be like a vase for the chicken wire, where you just fill up the container with water? Or is there wet tissue paper or something in the bottom?

Yeah there's water in the bottom. The chicken wire is purely structural so the flowers don't flop about in the container. Really the only benefit of oasis (floral foam) is there's no loose water so spills won't happen, but it's really not worth the giant list of negatives..

a general rule for flower pricing, if you have an $80 flower arrangement at retail price, you want to spend 30% of that in flowers/materials. so that would be $24 for materials and flowers.
