Just found your channel. And what a great tutorial. So easy to follow and especially like that you say how many strands you use for each part. And you tell us the color number for every part. We honestly couldn't ask for more. And going to watch some of your other one for sure. So a huge thank you for spending your time and passion with us. Stay safe and happy sewing everyone.

thank you for this, its really very clear. Can you please explain the difference of doing embroidery the stab method vs the sewing method.
@StitchingSabbatical4 жыл бұрын
I'm only familiar with the stab method becsuse it's what works best for me and my fabric and the type of embroidery I do. I believe the sewing method is when you only use one hand on top of the hoop and put the needle through the fabric in a parallel way to make the stitch. It seems to be a more "classic" technique. The stab method is more modern.

I finished mine ! Still have to practice that painting technique I think, and your rose shading looks more natural than mine. I'll post it on IG this week. Anyway, I have a question, if you've covered it elsewhere I've missed it. What do you use to draw your pattern? Just a regular pencil? I used water washable pen, but when I was done I had to rinse it, let it dry, then iron the wrinkles out of the cotton. I also have "Aunt Martha's Hot iron transfer pencils", but it seems they also need to be rinsed out. Do you rinse yours to make sure no lines are show through?
@StitchingSabbatical4 жыл бұрын
Oh I can't wait to see it! I used a friXion pen to trace the pattern. It's a heat erasable pen so when I'm done I used a hairdryer on it and the marks disappeared. You can also use an iron but I didn't want to squish the rose. If you do use the friXion pens I recommend getting the ultra fine tipped ones (05) and marking lightly. Sometimes the pen markings can come back with frozen temperatures and if you make too heavy and dark of a marking it can leave 'ghost' lines. But i've never had a problem with that! You can read more about it on my post here: instagram.com/p/BqXplccgw22

I do! My backs tend to be messy because of it. I have some other videos showing how I back my hoops on this channel if you'd like to check them out! :)

@@StitchingSabbatical Found it! Thanks! You've inspired me. Since I finished up the project on my loom today and plan on cutting it off later, I started a little embroidery project today. I haven't embroidered anything in years. Definitely my blending needs practice, lol. it looks alright, but with practice would look better. I plan on being finished with this by Friday, so I can gift it at a baby shower Saturday along with the other stuff we have. I crocheted edging onto 4 cotton receiving blankets, plus some purchased items. Anyway, since I work nights from my home, I'll be able to work on this little bunny here and there throughout the night.

If I were to embroider using these techniques on a pillowcase, is there any of them that you'd think would be sensitive to hand-washing, if I have interfacing on the back? I don't want to be unable to wash it, because it might unwind or loose shape if I did.

The woven rose would be easily messed up on a pillowcase but the other ones should be fine! :)

Hi! I'm still new to embroidery so I don't really know what I'm doing but I noticed that your thread is open on one end and closed on the other as opposed to closing both ends, making a loop. how do you keep the thread in the needle? Mine keeps slipping out since its open-ended. Thanks!

I'm learning to do embroidery and I personally learn by repeatedly watching what you do but as soon as the speeded up section begins I'm lost☹. Have you made tutorials for each stitch? Also, good if the name of stitch you are using comes up on the screen. Beautiful work💕
