Thanks for the real and candid update. I first came across your channel just as the lock-down commenced in March. During that period I caught up with all your back content. Sardinia will always, for me, be synonymous will that time. Seeing you guys sat on deckchairs in that campsite & the cooking bits, whilst I sat indoors during the tail-end of our British winter, did bring out a little green envy in me. As for traveling with dreads they have been pretty great - low maintenance no need for a bulk supply of shampoo but must admit they did make me a bit hot and sweaty when we were in hotter climates. The build up to going on an Epic trip, all the planning, saving and doing....and it goes by in a blink of an eye, that adventure....I felt like that when I returned home from my 21 day camper van adventure in Germany.....you have every right to feel sad and out of sorts and no apologies needed for feelings. I think its important for us as humans to allow ourselves to feel those emotions...without justifying it that others have it worse in some capacity.....I spend my days pining for another trip to Europe, I look at cheap houses, ways to buy a van without having to rent one (coming from Canada so renting is the only way I see). Now that we are under the Covid 19 umbrella and waiting for the time we travel again.....I have watched your adventure many times and thats why I subscribe, maybe I should up my monthly stipend...you are both so deserving of it....

Definitely don't feel bad about vlogging less, it's really important to recharge those batteries and this is a natural pause to take. I follow (and I'm sure you do too) different channels that only post occasionally cos they just don't fit in with that YT algorithm of 'same time - every week'. I still get that Yay feeling when a video gets dropped, whenever that happens. Really easy to understand the come down, normal to feel that way after the freedom and spontaneity of life on the road.

I think as you travel for you and not to earn money the key is to accept that you don’t have to make content and when you do it’s because you want to and enjoy it ..... covid and change makes you reflect and having to adapt ... the key is don’t let the thought of what others want does not nor dominate what you want - great video

He’s my friends dog and we are looking after him whist my friends moved house, then the lockdown was announced and we offered to keep him for the lockdown so that they could sort out their new house & redecorate! Good honest video without any sugar coating like some van life videos. Honestly you are better were you are at the moment as I just don't think it feels right travelling around Europe at the moment with all that's going on. I woder how your adventure would have turned out if there was no pandemic, you certainly lost quite a lot of travelling time locked down in the Sardinian campsite. Also I thought your accommodation was going to be free there and was quite surprised by the final bill. Some of the places you visited were deserted due to the pandemic, so you had the advantage of having it to yourelves minus the hoards of tourists. That will likely never happen again. I too lost my motivation to make KZbin videos, so I know how it feels. I have over 250 videos on my channel, but I just didn't get the same buzz uploading the latest ones. Then I bought my first van last January and converted it. Trying to get materials during lockdown was a nightmare. I made 2 videos relating to my van recently, but don't think it's right to do any more as it's mainly a bike travel related channel. Anyway, hope your mojo comes back and interested to see what this other van looks like. I'm looking for another as a winter project to then sell come early summer. Good luck :)

Thank you! It’s difficult to know what to do. As for what the trip would have been like with no Covid - I’m not sure Sardinia would have been so high on the list. Mainland Italy and Sicily were next on the road trip. But your right, a very unique time had post lockdown, one we will never forget. Have you thought about having a separate van conversion channel? KZbin is such a fickle platform - one minute it’s great & your feeling good next the life has been sucked out of you. Stay positive & stay safe. We appreciate your comment.

We felt like that every time we returned to the UK, however, you have returned when then the World is suffering a major Global Pandemic and into Lockdown scenarios which limits your opportunities to get out locally to ease the feeling of ‘freedom’ you have just enjoyed. Stay positive, you are young and have lots of new adventures ahead of you, you are both working, your van is up and ready to go when you get the next opportunity, so look on the positive side. You have started by voicing your ‘Blue Mood’ publicly, now move on and plan the next adventure 😘 Since I last commented on one of your Vlogs (Sicily I think), we have now retired from our Summer Campsite jobs and left UK in our van on 8th October, currently back in Spain in lockdown 😪 but the weather is better than the UK 😎 See, you can always make a positive out of a negative 😉 Take care guys and stay safe

Hello! For us it was a case of really simplifying life & making a few sacrifices. After a while it became slightly addicting to save money :P We also worked as much as we could, we don't earn mega-money but by watching our spending closely we were able to slowly save up enough :)
