Ms Price is one of two really fine black symphonic composers who originated in Little Rock Arkansas. The is William Grant Still. I have played this symphony and all the symphonies of William Grant Still in various Arkansas orchestras. They are beautifully lyrical works, all of them.

I wouldn't call it "groundbreaking", but it's certainly fun.

.. that's your opinion. (Always one rotten apple in the bunch)

@@Semifinished what exactly is "groundbreaking" about it?
@cdt50099 ай бұрын
If something is groundbreaking, it is very new and a big change from other things of its type

@@cdt5009Yes, I understand that.

@@Semifinished well, I am very into music history so I do know a handful: Chevalier, Coleridge Taylor, Margaret Bonds, William Grant Still, William Dawson(?), R. Nathaniel Dett, Florence (ofc), George Walker, Eleanor Alberga, Erollyn Wallen, umm....those are the only composers i can think of rn, but either way, your take on "groundbreaking" here is more of a social/political consideration than a musical one, imo..
