Florent GAUTHIER - Morning rain, Evening wind... (4 hands piano - 2024)

I was commissioned to write this piece at the end of 2023 and set about composing it at the beginning of January, after finishing my 4th string quartet.
The initial motif (the first 4 bars) came to me one night and took shape in the morning in a more extended construction augmented by two other different sections but forming a whole of 10 bars (4 - 2 - 4). These 10 bars will be the red thread around which the form is woven.
The 10 minutes piece is dedicated to the pianists Flore Dupuy-Martin and Florence Ribot.
