Florent Manaudou (FRA) sets the men's 50m freestyle World Record with a time of 0:20. The 12th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) were held in Doha, Qatar on 3-7 December 2014. The Hamad Aquatic Centre in the Aspire Zone hosted the event.

Not really. This is short course meters, not long course. That 21.15 was the fastest time since well... Cesar Cielo. People believe Manaudou quit because of the terror of Dressel. Let's think about it. 18.20 scy and a 17.71 relay split scy. 21.15 lcm And the has probably the best start ever seen, ever recorded. The swimswam time converter brings an 18.20 to a 20.21 and 21.15 to a 20.22. He could do it.

21.15 is dressels best long course time.......20.91 is the world record ceasar cielo.......in order to break the 20 second barrier,he would have to drop 1.1 seconds........think about it..... the world record has dropped 1 second in 28 years.........not going to happen for a while..........I was a highschool and colligate all American 100 back......100 fly and 200im........1975 to 1980.......and coached swimming from 1983 to 2001..........dropping a full second in the 50 for a world class athlete is a monumental task

This is not long course. I said he could break 20-and Manaudou went 20.20 in short course meters. He won't get 19 in long course, maybe he will get 20.75 or something. But in short course meters, if Manaudou goes 20.20 then Dressel can get 19;
