"At the core of its being, music is one of the most ephemeral of all arts: sound lives only in the short time of its creation. Since the year 1860 we have been able to cheat this deplorable circumstance by learning to record sound and reproduce it later.
Viewed against the immeasurable backdrop of time, our efforts to preserve sounds are admittedly in vain. The days of the CD are numbered and whether in 100 years someone still knows what an Mp3 file is, is uncertain. At the latest when our sun burns up, nothing will be left of what we have created and preserved.
So why create anything at all? I place my hope in transcendence, in a permanence of feelings or, in reference to Salvador Dalí, memories.
In this video, we captured a brief moment of music and preserved it, at least for the coming years. You're listening to a piece entitled "Dalí Lama," played in front of a sun, burning up in fast forward.
Hoping this gives you an inspiring memory, I am greeting you warmly,
Florian"
