St. Pete/Clearwater beaches are way to crowded for my taste. In that area I prefer Ft. Desoto island/park. I-275 just north of the Skyway, Exit 17 and follow the signs.

I used to live in Bradenton and it was great to see parts of the town I grew up in and with regard to the beach recommendations, check out Anna Maria Island. It would make an awesome video if you are still in the area, especially at sunset. From Sarasota, you head to St Armands Circle and hug the coast up through Long Boat Key. It works it’s way back towards Bradenton but you see Coquina Beach, Bradenton Beach etc. Then to head away from the beaches, stick to SR 64 towards downtown. That’d be an awesome scenic drive!

So glad you have video of the Skyway Bridge drive BEFORE they put up the hideous nets at the top. This was my drive to work everyday and they ruined such a beautiful view with those.

@jutah Most likely the jumpers. They act like they are saving lives but in reality, it was to save money from the response to find the body. They didn't even bother to make the nets nice looking. They were ugly and rusty from the day they installed them yet they are taking years to repaint the metal parts of the bridge. Makes no sense. Government at work.

I take this drive every day for work. 62nd and 4th (st.pete) to Cortez (Bradenton). The Skyway is scary and beautiful on foggy days. As you approach your blind, yet when you peek. Its as if you're on top of Mount Everest.
