When you're getting set up for first light, it sometimes feels like a deadline for a school paper. Before you know it, your time is up, and you have to crunch to get it done. We had to crunch this morning and we were ready right at first light, which always gets me flustered. Before we knew it, we were shooting ducks. We had a steady trickle through the morning but no big groups. Between the flustered start and slow trickle the hunt was not feeling very successful. Mid morning we finally had a decent pass and put a handful on the water. We retrieved those birds and did a count, somehow we were near our limit, we couldn't believe it. A flustered start ended with a smooth finish. What a turn around. What a hunt!
