Forget politics ... friendship is more important ... and in this case, so is talent. Everyone who hears a FGL song, hears Tyler. The writing, it's Tyler (BK just hops on the credit, in both cases). Tyler has NEVER said an unkind word about BK, and has ALWAYS wished him the best. But BK is taking his upset over attempts to get a career on his own going (Tyler's solo career is going as well as his career as FGL, because it was always Tyler you hear, nothing has changed), to a new low by going for the disgruntled, even though he was the one who wanted to go on his own. He was thinking a little too highly of himself, abd has gotten caught up in the celebrity trap. The end of the day, it's about talent. If BK has the talent to get on the charts and fuel the career he thought he was going to have on his own ... then do that. Don't bash a brother who took you on the ride of your life. Enjoy the ride, don't let all the negative emotions rule your life, and then try to say you were taking the high road. Just be your best you, be happy with your choices. They were in fact, his choices. He is wealthy because of his time with Tyler, as FGL. So, just be thankful for that ride, and accept your choice that led you to think you had a better solo career waiting. If it does or doesn't materialize, it'll be on him this time. Thats what he wanted. So he should just be happy with his choices and the outcome. It's not a good look. as a fan who has enjoyed both of these guys as FGL. Fans support their music, not their politics or grievances. Just make good music, and people will follow.

This whole thing is sad, frankly. It's just a lose-lose any way you look at it. I fail to see how green-lighting "Kiss My Boots" as a single on Kelley's part is going to help him long-term. It's not hard to see in a short-term perspective why his label chose to go this direction: because "See You Next Summer" underperformed and they cynically concluded the best way they could drum up attention and hype for his direct follow-up……………..was via a “bad blood” marketing angle. So that’s why “Kiss My Boots” was selected as the new single. It’s beyond cynical, desperate and gross..............but at the same time who can blame them? It wasn't likely anything else was going to draw instantly-gratifying attention to Kelley’s release. Because when you listen to the song on its own and forget about the surrounding drama for a second..........its verses lack the sort of descriptive imagery and symbolism that other songwriters who have been known to write their own songs about failed relationships or kiss-offs like Taylor Swift infused their lyrics with. (exasperated shrug) And that’s also precisely why Kelley is being coy in its promotional rollout and not just flat-out confirming it’s about Hubbard: because he and his promotional team are banking on that curiosity to try keeping it viable over a longer duration of time because they know if he just flat-out confirmed it, then the only real sense of intrigue will suddenly evaporate. Even though the "bad blood" marketing angle has certainly drawn more frontloaded eyes to this track compared to Kelley's previous singles, I simply don't think this will go the distance long-term for him as, again, it just feels cynical and calculating. But we'll see, I suppose.

He said, probably not. Unless both of them need the money (and I doubt they ever will) they are likely done.

While I love FGL and miss them, it seems like Tyler Hubbard should be able to recreate the magic since he sang at least 75% of the time. I think Brian Kelly's solo career is much better so far because he doesn't try to sound like FGL. I think "See You Next Summer" is a very good song, like as good as almost any other great country song. Hubbard's solo music, to me, sounds like it is missing something. Although I am open to suggestions, I think the only logical conclusion is Kelly is the better song writer of the two. Otherwise, why can't Tyler Hubbard sound like FGL? Maybe their type of music sounds better from a 20 year old vs. a 30 year old?
