a pardon does not admit guilt or innocence, but forbids prosecution for THAT specific offence for that specific defendant. if one defendant has multiple offences, they each must be pardoned. which, frankly, while legally does not imply guilt, it absolutely fucking does in public court. 9:20 A pardon doesn't wipe the crime, you actually have to acknowledge that you did in fact commit a crime in order to get a pardon. A pardon just wipes any future or remaining penalty for that crime. Seeing as you can't prosecute a sitting president and whoever wins after Trump, Republican or Democrat, neither will seek to prosecute him again for the cases he slipped out of so he doesn't really need to pardon himself, thus he never has to admit he did anything wrong.

Thanks for the laughs. In regards to your comment about Trump pardoning himself, I have the following. Trump was found guilty in a state court of a felony via state laws. The president cannot pardon someone found guilty in state court, only the governor of that state can. QED Trump cannot pardon himself, directly. He can, however, as president, use the withholding of federal funding for roads and schools, among other things, to put pressure on said governor to pardon him. This, depending on the state, is also a violation of state laws, as well as federal laws on bribery. He can't be charged with these further crime, if he does them, until he is out of office, though.

My family is actually from Bradenton Beach! The reason it is so small is because it is one of 3 "cities" on Anna Maria Island, along with the cities of Holmes Beach and Anna Maria. The island itself is only 9 miles (~14 km) long, and while the island is listed as 2 miles wide... The part where Bradenton Beach is located is no more than 500 meters wide. No joke, you can run from Tampa Bay to the Gulf of Mexico without even breathing hard. Add that to the fact that most of the housing has, unfortunately, turned into rental properties and gross multimillion dollar homes that wrecked everything and pushed the locals out. And yeah, 400 voting-age, full-time residents is probably about right. If anyone has spare money laying around, btw, that area got double barrel shotgun blasted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton and a lot of folks could use help. Many locals aren't going to be able to rebuild and the real estate developers are circling them like vultures. This is the first time in recorded history that Anna Maria Island had a direct hit from a hurricane, and twice in one summer. They were not prepared, major landmarks have been obliterated, and there are people who would love any help they can get not losing their little island homes

Probably. But if we're lucky, he'll just play tons of golf round 2 and just make sure he gets his appeals, charges dropped, etc., and say a bunch more stupid things that embarrass our whole nation again. I'd gladly pay that price to finally see the back of him. Of course then his followers and his vp elect will start becoming president, and I'm sure some of them are far more malevolent than Trump is. Because of how he is, he probably couldn't give two figs about anything that doesn't concern him, so flatter him, give him MCDonald's and something to watch and he's probably chill. Many others in his orbit, though, actually helped write Project 2025 and I get the feeling Vance is a fan of it. So even we are lucky for now, our future is looking dark indeed.

Simon claims to have read Arnold Schwarzenegger’s autobiography and has somehow never heard of a recall election.
