I'm a Jets fan, but since round 2, I was mainly cheering for the Oilers, especially after that exciting comeback in the Finals series. But during the celebration, when Maurice said on live TV that if he had one more wish, he wished that Winnipeg would win the next Stanley Cup, any resentment I had for him leaving the team went away and I am so happy for him. What a class act!

Congrats from an Avs fan. Inspiring that you came together to play your after stumbling hard and reaching deep. When all the doubts could have flooded through to cripple you, you got it done in front of your fans when it was ALL on the line. I really like your team. And the Oilers were warriors too. I do truly believe McDavid was the rightful Con Smythe winner. Draisaitl is going to be sick for his teammates because he just couldn't find success this series, but those two gave it all and simply ran out of gas. When you're top-heavy and counted on forever, you're eventually going to be spent and seeking contribution from other lines, but they fought honorably against a more complete team with a monster defense and goalie. I love Paul Marice! Both teams should be proud but the heartbreak will be immense, because sadly there's a probable chance in my mind that the world's best forward won't see the finals again. It's just that difficult to get there.

The Avalanche already won two times before their recent one 21-22. 95-96, after they came from Quebec, and then 00-01, with a F super team including Sakic, Forsberg, Roy, Bourque and Blake. As a flyers fan the panthers are my team come playoffs the last 2 years- solely based on Bob and PM. Paul is a class act. Met him years ago at a junior evaluation in Canada. Treated everyone like they were important regardless of their background or talent. Amazing guy. He’d sit with you in the video room and was generally interested in everyone and their families and such.
