Florida police smash window to rescue dog from hot car

Police smashed out a window to rescue a dog they say had been left alone inside a hot car "for quite some time" as the heat index in Bradenton, Florida, soared to 100 degrees.
Authorities say the dog was taken into the custody of animal services while they investigate the incident.

Rarely do they ever charge anybody with anything animal related in the great state of Florida. We had to rescue a barking, desperate Rottweiler from in Front of a plaza because the Winter Haven police would not respond, a firetruck was dispatched AFTER we freed the dog and got water, a 7 year old finally appeared at the car 20 minutes later and we had to tell her to go get her mom. Puerto Rican clueless lady with 3 more young kids sauntered out of the maxx, she got an earful from the crowd that had gathered. No police arrived, shame on the countless men who walked by shaking their heads who didn't get involved. It took 3 women to get it done. Dont be a coward when you see an animal in distress. Shoutout to TMOBILE store for giving me the cup to put the water in

My neighbor's leave their pit bull looks just like this one out in 20 degree weather and in 90+ weather without water to drink. He would get any water if it not for me. He has no shelter water or food and the animal service says nothing they can do. My city doesnt care about animals be out in extreme weather

I don't leave her for longer than a trip in to the store, and I live in a cooler climate. My dog gets out more than any apartment dog, I assure you, and she gets two walks a day as well. She is my companion as well as my security. No way I'm living in a van without a dog in these times.

One time I went to our market and there were 2 dogs left in a hot car. I ran into another store if was like a half an hour the dogs were still in the car. I called 911 and they connected me to the police. The officer told me what do you want me to do about it. I was shocked. I told him that the dogs were in the car for over a half an hour. It was 90 plus humidity and he says “what do you want me to do about “ I was livid all of a sudden the owners came out and the only reason I didn’t flip out was because they had a toddler with them.

I live here too & as long as I'm only gone for no longer than 5 minutes, I will usually let my dog come with me & I just make sure to put all the windows down while I'm inside the store. But the last couple of weeks have been so hot, I don't dare take her. It's been 98 degrees here every day!

I'm glad to hear that. I have a neighbor who puts her little dog in her backyard in the southern Sun here in Eugene about 20 times a day. The dog is yiking and barking the whole time. I have yelled at her over the fence but she is not of my culture and wants to be obnoxious to me. I'm not above turning her in for animal cruelty.
