if your a VIP member you automatically get an upgrade to best available room plus free breakfast for 2, the lounge comes with executive rooms/lounge. There was a deal on HotUKDeals in August where clicking a link upgraded you but it'd expired now

Hi both hope you enjoyed your trip, I came across how to get around lightning lanes and single pass for I phone, I managed to book a lighting lane and single pass seven days before our trip, we stayed at pop century, only used it for Hollywood studios and it worked very well 👌

I don't know if it's changed since it has become the multi pass but you could still ride without purchasing genie plus with minimal waits. We never purchased Genie Plus because for a family of 4 it's too expensive. We have purchased individual lightening lanes but only because we wanted to ride Guardians and Tron more than once but didn't have to because we were able to get boarding groups. You just have to have a strategy and may not get to ride everything. We'll always miss the old fastpasses.
